"We had a good stay at the Sloop Inn.
Lovely friendly staff.
The best breakfast.
The property is a little dated, and the bed isn't the most comfortable, but it was all good for a one-night stay. Would recommend."

"Lovely stay while exploring the area. Very peaceful and away from the hustle and bustle of Hereford but still close by. Great room with really nice shared kitchen facilities if you want to use them, or you can have a continental breakfast which we chose. Superb staff! We’ve already booked a return for a stopover."

"Bit of a mixed experience with this hotel. Generally decent public spaces and our room was spacious and modern.
The spa facilities are underwhelming, and the changing rooms could definitely use a refit. It was difficult to find a locker that locked! Just feels a bit tired overall.
We visited over the May bank holiday to go to the Cheltenham cheese roll event. One would assume the hotel would have predicted that this would be a busy time and staff accordingly. Alas, it was not the case. The queue in the bar for a drink was ridiculous for the two poor bar staff on duty, and we had the same experience in the restaurant.
The first night there was a sign to say no hot food was available, and the second night which we had booked an early seating at 6pm, we sat till 7pm waiting for food. At which point I told the waiter not to bring it if it didn't come out in the next few minutes. It was duly served, and the burger which I figured would be really difficult to mess up was practically inedible. My wifes meal although not bad was just unseasoned and bland.
An extremely disappointing experience.
I do want to state that our complaint is not with the staff, they were running ragged the whole time, and the same is true of the all the staff we dealt with, but the hotel management or whoever runs Q hotels needs to take a look at staffing levels at busy times.
I am aware that maybe on a normal weekend things may have been better, and others may have better experiences."
"Front desk staff were very helpful, excellent area to find restaurants, shopping and close to the cathedral. It was quite hot for my visit so the staff provided fans and ice buckets with bottles of water. If you need anything, just ask!
Would stay here again if ever in the area."
"Hotel generally very good increased charges for breakfast and parking have to into account. Conveniently located Cheltenham a fine town plenty of places to eat and very clean."
"Lovely welcome from staff on arrival and gorgeous large room with a huge comfy bed.
The gym and spa facilities were amazing, clean and well looked after
Breakfast buffet was really generous and good selection"
"The rooms are definitely not soundproof the first room the toilet didn’t work.
The mini bar was not very well stocked for the additional spend.
However, the staff to try their best"
"Charming British feel to this Hotel, renovated building with a quirky room layout in the building. Narrow stairs to rooms, no elevator. Room well decorated, no desk or side chair. Tasty bakery or treats in room and lobby. Very good breakfast. 5 minute taxi ride from Cheltenham Spa station,"
"The hotel needs to round off the handles on the room doors. Mine was razor-sharp and when I checked in the door handle cut my little finger halfway up its length. Since door handles are often handled by dirty hands, they are a vector for disease and it’s just a matter of time until the hotel faces a major lawsuit. The attached photo shows the length of the cut after four days of healing."
