"What a fun place. The history of the lodge was great to learn. The domes were great. Loved the outside private tub. The wood stove was such a nice warm touch. We experienced both a sunny day and a rainy windy day. Both awesome. Loved listening to the rain and wind the second night. I had read a review that said it was their best experience of their trip. I totally agree. Brit was awesome and provided us with all the comforts of home and then some. Thanks Matt for providing this awesome experience. Wished we had met you and been there on a music night. Loved your soundtrack. "

"The exterior, lobby and restaurant are clean and welcoming. That ends when you step off the elevator. The halls are dark, dirty with torn soiled carpet, and desperately need renovation. The room is dirty, depressing, dark and old. The bed was extremely uncomfortable. Clearly a mattress from 10-15 years ago. Linen was clean. The bathroom has not been touched in decades. Black mold on tiles in the tub/ shower. Shower curtain very dirty along the bottom. There are few electrical outlets. We had to move furniture to access one outlet to charge our phones. The ironing board is rusty and the pad soiled. We used the laundry room. At 9 pm we were drying our clothes and the “night manager” came and insisted we remove our wet clothes from the dryer so he could lock the door. We asked for 20-30 minutes and he refused. Told us to take the wet clothes to our room and come back at 9 am to dry them! We were delayed leaving in the morning so we could dry our clothes. Certainly, trying to accommodate guests using common sense is not part of the hotel policy. We would not stay here again. "

"We had a family weekend stay for our first trip to Tassie. I really liked how quirky this accommodation looked and it didnt disappoint. Old brick building, beautiful beams, gorgeous door in keeping with its older style. We were in the section by reception and noise was not an issue (I'd been a little concerned by some other reviews). There's a bend in the road that some boy-racers seem to like flying along, but we didn't notice any excessive noise. Bathroom a decent size, clean, daily housekeeping. About 15min walk to the marina and the main part of town, so well located. Walking distance to catarct gorge. Easy parking on site. Definitely go to the Penny Royal Adventure area onsite. We had a great time rock climbing, doing the rope bridges and zip lining. Would return if we ever go back to Launceston."

"It was an older establishment but up to date, clean rooms comfortable bed. I gauge how good a room is by the fact they have cookies to eat with the coffee and tea amenities. Not many places do this anymore and I appreciate it."
