We only stayed a night but it had almost everything you'd need for a stay. "Comfortable cosy stay in lovely, clean cottage which is dog friendly. Situated minutes from shops meaning you can easily get your essentials or grab a drink in a lovely pub. Nice location and suitable base to drive to other parts of the region. The cottage was clean and presented as described. WiFi was excellent throughout ( I know that’s required for some, but not us) Has a small back garden, which is gated and perfect for dogs to stretch their legs."

"Lovely hotel but location would work better if using an uber rather than thinking you can walk dragging your luggage. With construction and cobbled roads and hills it was not a very pleasant experience. It is more like 25 minutes walk if you don’t want to be dripping in sweat. Great room and breakfast was great."

"Our first visit to York, and we couldn’t have chosen a better one. Beautifully located near all things we wished to see. All the staff are fabulous, can’t do enough for you, but a special shout out for Phoebe on reception who really did go the extra mile for us. . It’s a clean and well presented room, fab bathroom with all necessities provided. The breakfast is extremely good with a great variety of choices and great value for money. The bar prices are certainly not unreasonable in this day and age. Would recommend this hotel in a heartbeat. If we are ever back in York this is where we will stay. One of the best hotels we have ever stayed in."

"Great property. Very conveniently located 5 minutes walk away from the train station and 10 minutes walk from major destinations. Live music at the bar was a great surprise. All amenities you'd expect from an older establishment, everything in well working conditions, some upgrades may be necessary but mainly esthetics and not function. The staff are extremely polite and accommodating. I'd definately stay here again if ever back in York."
