"A happy stay for both us and the dog. Clean and comfortable with all you need. Plenty of hot water and the heating was excellent when needed, the log burner completed the package. Just a little tight on space either side of the bed but not unusual in an older one level cottage. Secure garden for a dog unless it decides to explore the stream at the end of the garden. Ours didn't just enjoyed sitting in the sun with us. Nice to have a view too! "

"The chalet was clean and comfortable and in a lovely peaceful and picturesque location. However we did have a problem with the bathroom door as lock was lose and on occasions we couldn't get out of the bathroom or in if the door was properly closed. On stripping of the beds as requested by the cleaning company notes left in the chalet, my daughter was quite upset to discover a dodgy looking yellow stain on the mattress protector under the bottom sheet and also on the pillows. "Very warm, friendly and helpful staff. Spacious room with en-suite and shower. Breakfast was good and served well. Location great. Near bus stop and train station ! Had a superb Indian meal at the restaurant the previous night. It was quality Indian food! Highly recommended!"

"Great location, walking distance to the lake. There’s lots of food spots and shops nearby on the high street, the pub isn’t loud or crazy at night so we had a great nights sleep. Building is historic, so has that charm. On arrival one of the beds looked made up, but found lipstick on the pillow and hair in the bed. The staff were great at fixing this, even though he was busy in the bar restaurant. Breakfast was fantastic, full English - the lady who worked alone, she needs a raise, get her some young students to help her out serving. Thanks for a lovely stay!"

"The room and bathroom was great. Really clean, quiet and relaxing. We were able to take our dog also which was great. There is food available in the restaurant but quite expensive so we went elsewhere. Only negative was the nearest town had nowhere to eat out (it was quite run down) so we had to drive further afield for dinner but found a lovely pub called The Grape which did nice, reasonably priced food. I guess this hotel is a good base for hikers and nicely located next to zip world."

"Car park was fully open contrary to several emails stating it was closed prior to our stay which almost caused me to cancel. Staff were lovely/ really friendly. Remote for tv was missing but was found and returned. (Unfortunately batteries were dead rendering it useless). Lovely bar area and food was really tasty. Really good stay."
