The most beautiful and relaxing spot. The staff were fantastic, so kind and accommodating on everything. We had the most wonderful and refreshing stay. We were in shock coming back to the real word after this magical experience.

Shaka Caye (pronounced “Key” for the ignorant to proper pronunciation like myself), was absolute paradise. My wife and I had an amazing vacation. Whether you go just to relax on the beach like we did or want to plan as many excursions as possible, there really is something for everyone. The staff are all so kind and helpful. The chef was amazing. Special shoutout to Daisy, Percy, Roddy, and Michael who were there for most of, if not all, of our stay, It’s A+ service, minimal thinking required, just sit back and enjoy. We will definitely come back.

Shaka Caye is a hidden gem; if you want to have a non-chaotic, very personalized vacation where the staff treat you like you are the only person on the island, Shaka Caye is the perfect location. The staff know you by name, the rooms are kept very clean, the food was absolutely amazing (I will say that the food might have been my favorite part of the trip!), and you have a beach almost to yourself. I really can't say enough about our stay at Shaka Caye. From the moment we got off the boat we were surrounded by beauty and luxury. The staff are fantastic, from the excellent bar staff (Obie and Roddy), to the boat and excursion captain (Andre), to our coordinator Daisy. We will 100% be back, it's that fantastic. 5++++ stars.

It was a delightful private small island. Only accessible by boat, so if you want to get away from it all this place is for you! Excellent staff, good food for a resort, and with capacity only for 35 guests you may find yourself completely alone like we did for our first few days. Kayak over to a private beach and swim with the fish (no sharks!) overall a very relaxing vacay!

The Gold Standard of Belize – A Michelin-Level Private Island Experience! If you are looking for the only place worth staying in Belize, Shaka Caye is it. From the very moment I stepped off the plane, the staff made us feel like royalty. Their attention to detail is truly unmatched; they anticipate your needs before you even have to ask. The culinary experience was the biggest surprise of all. I have dined all over the world, and the food here tasted like I was eating at a 3-star Michelin restaurant. Every meal was a masterpiece of flavor and presentation. A special thank you to Glenda and her entire staff. Their warmth and professionalism made our trip feel deeply personal and incredibly special. They don’t just provide a service; they provide a memory. I won't stay anywhere else in Belize from now on. A Romantic Island Escape Shaka Kai in Believe is an absolute gem! From the moment we arrived, we felt like we had stepped into paradise. The bungalows were spotless and beautifully designed, with two large windows overlooking the stunning blue sea — waking up to that view was unforgettable. The food was amazing and clearly made with care, though my husband wished there were a few more options on the menu. Still, everything we tried was fresh and delicious. The staff truly made the experience exceptional — friendly, attentive, and always going above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and happy. This isn’t really a place for kids in my opinion, but if you’re looking for a quiet, romantic escape surrounded by natural beauty, Shaka Kai is absolutely perfect. We can’t wait to go back! ---

The staff was amazing. The rooms were very clean. The food was great! We stayed from Friday to Friday and all the food options were different from breakfast, lunch, snack and dinner. My husband and I came here for my birthday and our anniversary. They made that day very special. They decorated the boat. Then in the evening we had a nice romantic decorated dinner by the fireplace. They came out singing happy birthday with a cake. It just felt like we were on a couple’s retreat. Oh and bring extra bug spray, aloe Vera gel and alcohol. Those bugs will tear you up.

This is a beautiful island. Great vacation if you want a quiet, relaxing and secluded time. The food was amazing. You need to take a boat off the island to do excursions and that can be pricey. Also, if you like to watch TV at night, you should take a tablet, since the villas do not have TV’s.

Not much to complain about at all. Be careful when booking as the room booked on Expedia and room we got there were not the same. One bedroom beachfront villa on Expedia translated to a one bedroom Jr. villa at the resort and was said to be a software disconnect???? Resort had no interest in fixing the problem for us. All other staff was amazing.

This was such a gem! Private island with few guests made this stay such a unique experience. The service was EXCEPTIONAL and everyone was so kind and accommodating. Couldn't have asked for anything better. One note is that if you want to do anything off the island, it's a process to take a 40 min boat ride to the main land. Well worth the stay if you want to relax and stay on the beach!

Really lovely ‘get away from everyday life’ holiday. Super helpful and friendly staff (who work so hard), food choices were great and liked how quiet and peaceful the small island is. So relaxing made it very hard to want to do anything! Only tip to add: if you’re a pasty white ‘gringo’, make sure to pack a decent insect repellent as when the wind drops and the sun is out, so are the sand flies. The staff recommend baby oil! Would recommend coming to Shaka Caye in a heartbeat.
