Nature at it's very finest! All my life I said that I would live in the woods, far from a town or neighbors. I have a house on 30 acres of land, seven miles from a two red light town. My neighbors are few. I know them well, but we rarely interrupt the solitude of each other. I'm living my dream! God loves me. The entire hotel was nothing like it was advertised. The supposed to be white towels were dirty. The floors were nasty. The continental breakfast was definitely a no for me. The Thomaston Colored Institute, aka Thomaston Academy, is a historic African American school building in the town of Thomaston, Alabama, United States. This two-story brick building was completed in 1910 as a private school by an African-American religious group, the West Alabama Primitive Baptist Association. The school served a historic African American neighborhood in Thomaston, as the only real educational opportunity for the area’s African-American population. This building has been abandoned since the 1970s, and has suffered from benign neglect.
