This is an idyllic location for a quiet retreat in the heart of beautiful Canadian Shield country. The hosts are very friendly. Best value in a bnb ever! Breakfast was delicious French Toast With perfect texture homemade bread.

Wonderful and quiet! Such a cozy home and very friendly hosts. They have a dog, Ginger, who is very sweet. The first snowfall of the season started as we woke up and it was beautiful.

We stayed one night in the loon room downstairs, and our bathroom was upstairs. Both were very clean and spacious. Bed was very comfortable! The property and house were beautiful, but the most memorable part of our stay was meeting Annette, Al and their dog Ginger. Super kind and hospitable, would love to return for a longer stay in the future!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our hosts were wonderful, caring and welcoming. The home was beautiful as was the surrounding property. Gorgeous pond, flowers, and all sorts of beautiful plants. We would've stayed longer had there been an opening, but we would no doubt come back again on our next trip to Canada. Our room was amazingly clean, the bed was super comfortable, and so warm and inviting. Our hosts recommended a couple places to visit (a wonderful restaurant and a large art/gift shop nearby) and we followed up on their suggestions and both were exceptional! I must add that we had beautiful fall weather during our stay here which made our stay even more exceptional. We highly recommend The Gathering Place on Golden Ponds.

Lovely historic cottage

A lovely cozy cabin type house nessled in the woods! The house is full of history and a must see for any nature loving enthusiast. The owners were very welcoming and made us feel very comfortable in their home. We ate dinner in Bancroft at the local pub! If going up in the area again, it will be on our list of places to stay again!
