"The area was generally very dirty. The entrance to the hotel was being used as a shop for Chinese girls to get dressed up and having makeup. Hence it was as you were entering a small fitting room. The staff could hardly understand a word of english, while we had to ask for very standard supplys such as toilet roles to be provided to the room."

Beautiful place for breakfast, Chinese breakfast did not suit my wife but great coffee and orange juice, i think they own luckin coffee next door. "Wonderful hotel set in an ancient mansion. Staff were helpful and friendly and focused on improving the guest experience. Wonderful breakfast whether you ordered Western or Chinese. We ate the special set menu dinner. Definitely the best restaurant in Pingyao. Staff had a proficient level of English which enabled us to have a better experience visiting the historical sights in the walled city. Our two night stay was a five star experience."
