"This hotel was lovely. The communal areas are very pleasant to sit in, clean and spacious. Our room was very clean, the bathroom was great too! Being British, we would have liked a few tea bags, but this is hardly a big deal. If you opt out of having your room cleaned one day, you get a free drink at the bar for being eco friendly I guess, which is a nice touch. Overall we had a fab time here!"

"Aparthotel Castelnou is a delightful place to stay. The apartment was spacious and spotless and had everything you could possibly need. Staff were so helpful, attentive and friendly, including advice on the best way to walk into the city centre. Dinner was amazing and there is a very pleasant small garden for eating outside. I'd thoroughly recommend this as a great place to stay."

Pillows Grand Boutique Hotel Reylof Ghent

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Pillows. It has elegance without being 'stuffy' and is beautifully furnished and decorated. Our rooms had balconies to relax overlooking the courtyard with gardens and seating for food and drink. We found the beds and pillows really comfortable and appreciated the amenities provided (robes and slippers, toiletries and coffee pod machine). The hotel has several restaurants of different ambiance, one offering a buffet breakfast with a good range of hot and cold food. For us, the location was ideal, with all of the historic sites and eateries within a short walk, yet away from the crowds and noise along the canal in the centre of the old city. The hotel can be reached by trams and buses from the station. Ghent is a beautiful city for a short break. It is also less than an hour by train to Bruges, Antwerp, Brussels, the coast at Ostend and Ypres is just over an hour. We would definitely stay at the Pillows again as a base to visit any of the sights in Flanders."

"A nice characterful hotel in a location within easy walking distance of the central tourist areas. The provision to store luggage before check-in and after checking out was particularly welcome. The room and bathroom were nicely decorated although the ‘double’ bed was quite uncomfortable as was two single beds pushed together which created a sag in the middle. Also the room (3 on the ground floor) is located right next to the stairs that all other guests have to use and as a consequence was very noisy- you can hear footsteps on the stairs, voices, banging etc every time the stairs are used which started at 06.45 on a Sunday morning which was unwelcome and disturbing. My travel partner had a separate room on the 1st floor and also commented that this room was also subject to a lot of noise with ‘paper-thin walls’. We did not have breakfast so cannot comment. Overall the hotel served the purpose for a brief 1 night stay in Ghent but would not like to stay any longer than that due to the disturbances whilst trying to sleep."
