Lovely Balinese accommodation. The staff especially Dewi & IB made our 7 days so lovely. So much to do around the PuriRaja and entertainment close by too.
Our experience at the Puri Raja was a good one and i want to be fair and objective for them and for fellow travelers.
the property was going through some kind of renovation project and in Bali that means a bit of a mess. the construction guys were polite and respectful about their noise impact but it did lessen the experience somewhat.
first. the bed was great! slept great. the sheets were a tad old and could use replacing. small things like not cleaning our wine glasses were noticed but the timing of room clean was handled very well.
the pool area was nice, the lounges are a bit old and in need of updating but that was ok. the easy access straight on to Legian beach was exactly what we were looking for. Breakfast was limited but satisfying to us. dinner wasnt so great but the proximity to great food in every direction made that a non event anyway.
this is Bali and this is not a 5 star hotel so allowances for somethings like inconsistency in service must be expected. :-)
the staff were all smiles and very friendly. if you want a 5 star experience they are available. If you want a more organic experience that still feels like Bali and not a resort you could find anywhere, the Puri Raja suits the bill.
when it was time to leave, we were extended in our room far beyond what i hoped for and for that we are very thankful to the manager.

Some of the staff were great , others no so .Drinks were way to expensive $4 .50 for a Bintang!!! Cocktails expensive and your free drink consisted of arak a $2 drink on the street!!
We paid for a upgrade only to be put opposite rooms that were being renovated- noise all day!! We were not advised renervation were being done on our dates - this should have been noted for people booking in these dates!!
Bali is not good value anymore- stay home and sport local business!!
