Badly situated
The beach is not made to swim or for families, only good for kite surfing. Lots of sargasses weeds along this coast. The path to access the property is really bumpy and in bad condition . Fortunately, the residence is on Google map so not too difficult to find even though there is some road work in the middle of the village that prevent access from the main road. The staff is nice and helpful, but being there in June (low season) everything else is closed: the restaurant of the residence, the play structures for the kids and also most of the restaurants and markets in Le Vauclin ..even with very few tourists there, the wifi was really slow and the accommodation really really small. Thankfully, there was A/C.

Sargassum on the beach made for a miserable stay
This particular hotel is located off a beach suffering from an invasion of Sargassum. It is seaweed with a very pungent smell of rotting fish and swamp water. We arrived late at night on Tuesday March 12, 2019, and although we did notice the smell, it wasn't until the sun was beaming on the beach that the smell became absolutely unbearable. By 8am the following morning, the smell had caused me to throw up 4 times. After speaking to the manager of the resort, we were offered another room in the property further away from the beach yet still within the confines of "the village". I turned down the offer as the smell was wafting through the entire property. We checked out before 10am after the manager offered to reach out to their offices in Paris to discuss obtaining a partial refund. To add insult to injury, I tried getting in contact with them with regards to items we left in the closet. I have yet to hear back from them. Unfortunately, the nearby beach was completely covered with Sargassum, the stores along the beach were all closed, and although there were a number of workers clearing up the Sargassum, the smell was impossible to mask. I would not recommend this hotel, nor do I find it just to have this property listed on hotels.com without a proper disclaimer as to the issue they're dealing with. Now we are out a couple hundred dollars and two days of our vacation were ruined as a result of this oversight. In hindsight I would've never stayed in this area of Martinique.

Adequate stay
We stayed at the Le Village de la Pointe for seven nights. The grounds were well kept, as well as the pool area which was nice. The three bedroom bungalow which was rented looked like a sea container with an attached patio. It was adequate, but nothing to write home about. Note that we had to ask two times to get the dirty towels/linens removed from the porch from the previous occupant. They do not provide much with the bungalow. We asked for a blanket; there were none. We asked for clean towels, we were told we had to wash what was left in the room. The only item they do provide is one roll of toliet paper! No hand soap, dish soap, paper towels.....etc. If you need WiFi, do not stay here. It was basically non existent except near the pool area. Upon my return I discovered they overcharged me by over $600! Hopefully this will also get resolved.

This property has one tiny unlit sign on the road noting the entrance down a bumpy dirt road. It’s confusing. Upon arrival in the evening our keys were waiting as described by the resort. The villa was clean but did not have sheets on 4 of the beds and no blankets come with any of the beds. All of the plastic shower curtains were ripped and hanging. The Villa needed a little update and tlc. Some replacement of a few things and a couple repairs would make a big difference. During the entire stay they did not have beach towels available. Each day they would tell us the towels were being laundered. The resort is located on a beach known for kite surfing. You can not sun bath or play on this beach. It’s covered with seaweed and smells horrible! The restaurants along the beach area are good. Speaking French is almost a must! It’s very challenging to communicate with anyone if you don’t. The biggest disappointed was when the property manager had arranged for us to take a family trip out on a catermaran and the night before we were informed they didn’t have room for us and it was our last day. He had three days prior where he could have contacted us and we potentially could have rescheduled but he didn’t. Poor customer service. We loved Martinique and would recommend visiting but would stay in another area like La Diamont or Le Marin.

Good stay I recommend it
Hotel is at beach but tones of glones make sunbathing impossible, its windy, paradise for kitesurfing. We stayed with 2 kids (1 and 3 years) generally we are very satisfied with swimming pools and hotel staff - amazingly helpful!!!! We needed a doctor and Natalie from bar helped us arrange it because my French is bad. Wonderful beaches are within 15-20 mins drive and carrefour around 10-15 min. Very good prices, you just need a car.

Cockroaches and bedbugs do not stay here
My legs and back has been attacked by bedbugs. The staff at the receptionist area did not understand what I was saying even with the side of google translate and using photos of the damages and insects. We disninfected and fumigated the place ourselves but little did I know that we were not only fighting cockroaches but feeding bedbugs as well.

Beautiful bungalows in a peaceful setting
Arrived at 7pm but had to wait approx 15 mins for security to open the gates and show us to our bungalow...which was very clean and comfortable. Ate at the pool bar restaurant, which had the usual burgers and pizza offerings but that was fine for us. Next day we rented a car, but due to some confusion we almost didn't get one. Thankfully the manager who spoke English (we speak zero French) was able to organize one so we got to move around the island by ourselves. Overall, a very great place to stay with a huge pool and play area for kids. Also a short walk to the beach so we were able to watch the kite surfers. It's quite a drive to Fort_de_France so reserving a car with them beforehand is definitely recommended! Would most definitely stay there again...but will make sure to buy dish/bath soap, toilet paper etc before arriving next time.

Just Right for Us ~
I traveled as a single parent with two children (13yrs & 11yrs) to Martinique, our second time to the island. We arrived super late (11:30pm) in the dark with a rental car and were greeted by a security guard who helped us locate the welcome packet, key to the cabin and showed us where to go. Basic great clean cabin, bring toilet paper, paper towels, sponge, dish soap, & blankets. They provide towels for the bathroom, pool towels (European style, not plush), and sheets. We had to ask for a set of sheets for the bunkbed the next morning, they were not provided the first night. Wifi at the Village is extremely unreliable, which after awhile I just gave up trying to connect - part of a vacation mentality. The Village location is near a wind-surfing / kite beach which is amazing to watch - and you can walk in the water up to your knees for a long long way - but not really a swimming type beach. Fabulous shack type beach restaurants at this beach though, with lots of choice for treats & a good meal. We drove 30 minutes each day to Les Salines (most beautiful beach on the island) and enjoyed our day trips. Carrefour Grocery store to stock up is about 30 minutes heading North, we did that the first day too. Pool area & snack bar shack was nice. The staff at the resort were nice enough but not once did anyone ask us how our stay was or if we were having a good time. If you attempt some French, some people will attempt English, but the language barrier was tough at times for me...

Good hotel with some challenges!
Some tips - Bring (or buy) soap (dish soap for kitchen and hand/body soap for bathroom), toilet paper and toiletries (shampoo and conditioner) that you'll need. Nothing is provided beyone 1 roll of TP. If you like to sleep with a blanket bring one, as we were provided only a sheet for the bed. Also, bring your own entertainment. The wifi is weak and slow and there are only about 8 tv stations that are all French all the time. English is hard to come by and it was explained that the French spoken is a dialect. This was a challenge I did not expect so much! Overall, a lovely resort. The rooms are new and are actually separate modular buildings. They are situated quite close together and there were lots of kids around so it was noisy and not very private at times. They are air conditioned with one unit in the main living room and fans to distribute the cool air to the bedrooms. Windows can be opened but there are no screens. We didn't see a mosquito our entire stay but that may depend on the season. Bring food! There was breakfast items available for purchase and a bar was open each night at the pool for food (Closed on Wednesday) but you'll probably want to stop at the market for food. Also, there are some good restaurants and snack stands on the beach. Try the Crepes from the 1st available stand! We were always able to get a chair at the pool. We brought our own beach towels as those provided are very thin. Interesting island and neat adventure.

Convenient for a family beach vacation
The hotel is located near Point Faula on the Atlantic coast. It is a 40 minute drive from the airport. Google maps gets you close, but it is a little tricky finding it in the dark. A couple of days before check in the hotel sent a detailed email with all relevant information including how to check in after hours and the code to enter the property and a map with the local businesses which was very helpful. We checked in late, the key was conveniently placed with clear instructions in a drop off box in front of the office. The property has about 75 cottages spread out over a pretty wide area and some of the cottages are pretty far from the parking lot. It can be quite a hike to get the luggage and groceries from the car to the cottage. There is a restaurant with a bar which is open through the day. The staff was very friendly and helpful. There are ample food options nearby and the town of Le Vauclin has grocery stores, pharmacy and a nice market. The cottage was very comfortable with a full kitchen and utensils. The kids really enjoyed the bunk beds. The beach was easily accessible through a gate on the property and the water was shallow and perfect for little kids. There were 4 beach towels and 4 bath towels in the room, when we tried to get more but were told we had to launder and reuse the towels we had been provided (washer and dryer 5 euros each!) This is a great place for families with kids and also a nice gateway to explore the southern part of Martinique.

A place to be
We had a nice stay for a week. The hotel is nice, the region is beautiful, a truly place for relaxation with family and golf. The hotel has cars for rent, a must have to tour the island/golf course. The staff are nice! Don't remember all the names, but one is Rodolphe who picked/dropped us from/to the airport is very friendly and helpful. We can't wait to go back to the same place, the capital of kite surf. Au revoir Martinique!

OK place. Beds are rock hard. Told they were not a hotel. You get 1 towel for 7 days, if you want another one, they tell you to wash it. Charge for extra TP, trash bags, etc. You have to arrive prepared to stay here. Such as body soap, face cloths, sponges to do dishes and dish soap. Nothing is there like that. No out door grill only a frying pan to cook your meat in. Cabins are OK, very simple. Also no one there speaks any English at all. You have to drive to the beaches, none close to walk to.
