Arnimsruh Hotel Garni

St. Gertrud

10/10 Excellent

We got caught up in traffic and didn't make it to the final check-in time (18:00). Luckily the hotel called us, and we were able to check-in via the phone (incl. Covid-19 paperwork). We greatly appreciated that. The room itself was a bit old (70ties technology for the radio and alarm clock), but otherwise clean, spacious and well lit. No problems with the beds either. The bathroom was a bit tight, but otherwise in good working condition and functional. Shower had decent pressure. Internet...

I don’t normally comment on check-in as it is standard, but the young woman who checked us in was so welcoming. She seemed genuinely interested in the places we had visited on our holiday. She was also helpful in explaining everything about the hotel and its proximity to the old town. I did not take her name but she told us she came from Namibia. A perfect stay in a beautiful city, location is perfect in a quiet neighbourhood and 2 minutes walk from the number 12 bus stop which takes you into the city. The lady owner speaks very good English and is a real character with a great sense of humour and this made our stay very enjoyable. Breakfast was a quality buffet with cheese, hams, salami, salmon, yoghurts, jam, breads etc. and delicious coffee. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the area.
