A great place in a sleepy village
"This is a very charming hotel in a small sleepy village. Its a bit of a distance from everything, but a great location by the sea. The staff really tried hard to make yourself comfortable, and the hotel has a great atmosphere. Attentive staff who really wants you to enjoy yourself. We were fortunate enough that one of our rooms where number 36, which had a small but charming balcony very close to the sea, where we enjoyed the sunset every night. We chilled and really enjoyed our stay. The rooms are a bit small for someones taste but we loved it. Great place for a few days of couple or family time. The restaurant had a rather limited menu but the best in the village and served good food. Would have loved to see a fish dish(they had a salmon sandwich, which wasnt really a main course) on the menu and more distinct difference between starters and main course. But overall a gem. "
"We had an amazing stay. The hotel is unique - so creative. The owner is very friendly and helpful. The room was amazing - full of character but also a modern bathroom plus helpful equipment such as coffee machine, fridge, job ring, sink, microwave and tea and coffee were provided along with plates glasses cups cutlery. The hotel is next to the sea and near restaurants and cafes. We will stay again. "
"Extremely large campus. Excellent views over a vast area. Room was pedestrian but acceptable. Property needs a freshening but still very nice. Some loud partiers near by went at it until 3 AM. Still a great stay despite the foregoing. The car ride in is harrowing as it is a narrow country road which occasionally shrinks to one lane. Dining was very nice except the lunch menu which was spartan. "
"This hotel is quite an historical institution with so much history in the walls. If you want to learn about the great show artists and musicians in Norway, you should go for a walk in the corridors and breathe in the atmosphere and stories painted on the walls.
The view from the room was amazing, I love waking up next to the sea from the the sound of seagulls. Bed was super comfortable and I was blessed with a bathtub. Breakfast was a rather traditional Norwegian one, which was quite refreshing. Annoyingly there were signs of "homemade" and "freshly squeezed", when it was obviously not.
The person who met me at the reception at my arrival, was truly perfect for the job and I felt very much welcome. All in all it was a great stay and I look forward to come back! "
