The COVID-19 outbreak may have changed how we travel, but it hasn't dampened our zest for exploring. Here are some tips on how to tackle travel's new challenges:

• Research what, if any, restrictions or rules apply to both your origin and destination. You may not be able to travel depending on local circumstances, so be sure to check before you book your flight.
• You're required to wear a face mask throughout your travel experience, including at screening checkpoints. Be prepared to lower your mask for ID verification when asked.
• To reduce the possibility of cross-contamination, place your boarding pass on the scanner yourself and then hold it up for inspection. Do not hand your boarding pass directly to a TSA officer.
• You can take one container of hand sanitizer up to 12 oz (350 ml) in your carry-on baggage. This will need to be removed for X-ray screening.
• Put any personal items (e.g, keys, phone and coins) in your carry-on rather than a bin to minimize handling during screening.
• If you're bringing food through security screening, put it in a clear plastic bag and then into a screening bin. This lessens the likelihood that a TSA employee will need to touch your food container or carry-on bag for inspection.
