Wonderful experience!
Beautiful hotel, perfect for a relaxing couple of days during our trip all over Portugal. Best hotel staff we came across throughout our entire trip - super attentive, professional and kind. Great spa facilities, indoor and outdoor pool, incredible attention to design detail - all making this stay a wonderful one.

Relaxing break
Lovely place to relax. We'd been traveling elsewhere in Europe before we stayed here. It was a much needed slow down. Great spa services and the food was excellent.

My experience here isn’t what I would expect of a 4 star hotel. We were in the area to celebrate and anniversary and birthday. I travel quite a bit and haven’t experienced something like this. The hotel did not have an iron/steamer in the rooms (common in Europe). I would have called services to request one but our room phone wasn’t working. After finding someone on my floor to assist they said they will get us one but 30 mins there was no available iron/steamer. They then later they said it’s all being used and we will need to pay for the hotel to iron for us. I decided to head to the front desk to figure out what can be done. To my luck, the elevator shuts down and I’m stuck. After they get me out, they offer simple verbal consolation. They then say they will arrange an iron for us by the time we return from our excursions. We return in the evening and nothing. The service is extremely lackluster. No one knows how to handle any situation. In any other hotel with a little common sense, the front desk or hotel manager would give some consolation or make an effort to make a guest feel comforted after they get stuck in an elevator and are forced to wear wrinkled clothes but here nothing. While checking out they asked how my stay is. I said terrible and the agent shows no attempt at remorse. I know this isn’t the Ritz Carlton but for a 4-Star hotel, I expect some basic customer service. Id expect better from a quality inn.

The property was a bit austere on the outside but has recently undergone an internal refurbishment and has a really nice rustic minimalist interior . The staff team were a young crew and fantastic

Staff's big hearts make up for lack of accessories
Staff are loving and go out of their way. Charming spot, great meals and service. No iron and ironing board in the hotel though? Instead, they sent them offsite and had our clothes washed, and charged us for that and delivered them later than promised lol. Also, restaurant is better than it looks in the photos.

Hotel is elegant, staff were really helpful, quiet, with almost every service, we stayed in the bar until almost midnight. The Breakfast area and type of breakfast were amazing, among the best part of the hotel services! We really enjoyed the stay, hope will revisit again in the future. 10 out of 10 rating.

Absolutely incredible!
This hotel was amazing! The service was incredible, the poolside (and everything) so clean and relaxing, thoughtful touches everywhere - the decor is soothing, staff are so helpful and attentive to all details. And the breakfast!!! Absolutely incredible! So many choices, beautiful views from the patio and poolside. We visited for our honeymoon and we’re left a sweet card and treats on our room too:) we so hope to be able to come back someday!!

Enormous breakfast platter
A modern hotel and a short walk into town - 20 mins….some might find it steep coming back but a 5 euro taxi negates that. With COVID it’s hard to judge but the breakfast platters were enormous with the usual Med breads and cakes. They served me gluten free. Very friendly but not much English spoken. The spa is limited but we had a treatment which was ok. Not much to do in Lamego so a couple of nights is enough.

Clean and comfortable with friendly, helpful staff. Nice European breakfast with bread, meats, cheeses, fruit, yogurt, etc. The GPS has trouble locating the hotel, but we called and they helped us. The only drawback is that the hotel is a few miles outside of town, so you need a car to get to town.

Lamego is a budget hotel dressed up like a luxurious one. Overall we enjoyed our stay - the indoor pool is nice, the bar and terrace beautiful, the breakfast nice enough. The view is excellent But there are lots of issues many of which could easily be rectified. The outdoor pool area is in fairly poor condition and with floating leaves in the pool. It feels a bit like a deserted mid west hotel post cyclone. There was even a pack of dogs roaming around one morning. We were told it was heated to 25 degrees. Farenheit perhaps - it is nippy and we were the only ones for our entire stay brave enough to take a dip. The rooms are very basic but nicely decorated. The reception staff are lovely but the bar is chronically understaffed. I spent minutes stood at the bar while a barman wrote casually in his notebook without acknowldinv me. I wondered if i had died and he lacked the sixth sense. The food in the bar took so long to arrive people were getting visibly irate. But when it came it was brilliant. The kids room was a nice touch although the floor polished marble, and the pool table had only ancient cues and not all of the balls. On the first night I genuinely checked if there were other available hotels for our subsequent night, but in the end we had a nice time.

The rooms are lovely. The bar area is great with a nice tapas menu. I had a Lymphatic Drainage massage which was wonderful and was able to get in for an appointment the day we arrived. The weather was not the best for the outdoor pool but it was inviting. The workout room was well equipped. However, it did not seem like all the rooms had bathrobes as ours did not. We found out on the second day we should have been greeted with a wine tasting when we checked in. We were not and had to ask about it. Also, there was a list of planned activities that we never received. It was only when I asked at checkout that found out we should have been given it at check in. There is a book in the room about the SPA but not about any other hotel amenities. The indoor pool and hot tub were not as inviting - the hot tub had quite a bit of foam in it. The rooms were quiet and the over sized king bed super comfy. The TV had an English channel which was a plus. The bar and restaurant staff were great! The included breakfast was noteworthy and was filled in well as items depleted. Dinner was a limited menu but very delicious. I did like that the hotel is eco conscious. Decor is nicely done industrial. Good stay.

Everything about our stay was fantastic. Upon arrival, we were given two complimentary glasses of wine that was made by the hotel. This was such a nice touch being in the wine region. The staff was friendly and accommodating. We sat outside on their patio and enjoyed an amazing dessert with our wine. The pools and gym were clean and the options at the breakfast buffet were vast and tasty. Parking was easy. Would 100% stay here again if I’m in the area.

Un wow dans une localité rurale. Un coup de coeur pour le restaurant dont les plats sont de grande qualité avec vue impressionnante sur la Vallée de Douro et la piscine extérieure. Très agréable et relaxant! On peut découvrir de bons vins sur la terrasse.
