Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Greenville by IHG
6/10 Okay
"The biggest complaint we had was the noise from the air conditioner and the arrangement of the room. The air conditioner was only about two feet from the head of the bed, and when it kicked on, it blew smelly air directly into my face. And the worst part was, when it was running, it was about as noisy as a lawn mower starting up two feet from your head. By the time we left, I was exhausted from a week's worth of rotten sleep. The room was acceptably clean. We stayed 8 days, our bedding was never changed. I usually made our bed, but the one day I did not, the maid barely pulled the covers up over the bed. Our used towels were taken off the rack, and no clean towels were put up to replace them. I had to go to the desk to ask for clean towels twice. The staff was not overly cordial or helpful. The breakfast bar was passable. However the water in Greenville tastes like it comes out of a fish tank, and you could even taste it in the orange juice from the dispenser. To top off a so-so stay, we extended our stay one additional night; the first seven nights we were charged $179.83 per night. The last night we added on to our stay, we were charged $202.27. Go figure... Not staying there again."
"Booked this room because it said an RV park and motel on the lake. We were looking for a place family could stay in the motel and we could camp during the Crappie Fest next year. What a joke! The RV park is a trashy full-time trailer park. The so-called convenience store had zero air conditioning, nothing on the shelves and definitely nothing to order for dinner. The clerk had to run all over the store to find the key to our room. Our room did have air conditioning but the unit was so loud we couldn’t hear the TV over it, and trying to sleep with it kicking on and off was impossible. The coffee supplied with the mismatched coffee pot that didn’t work was instant coffee. The bed was hard and broken down. We did have a nice refrigerator. The bathtub still had the soap marks from the previous guest and an empty water bottle in the floor by the bed. Needless to say we will not be returning."
"Clean property. Clean room. Clean pool. Clean common areas. Helpful and friendly staff. Delicious breakfast. Plenty parking. Wonderful place. Thank you for everything."
"Mixed opinion. The Bad: AC wall unit was so noisy in room 136. It clicked on and off about every 5 minutes. The mattress was stiff and uncomfortable. Bad sleep for all of us. The Good: Staff at the check in and during the continental breakfast were so friendly! Only 5 minutes drive from the Canton market and many food options around (Dairy Palace was a great, country food restaurant treat). Room 136 is on the side of the hotel and away from the pool, making it a bit more quiet, but again, the AC made it loud anyways. No hair conditioner, so take your own. "
"The room was not very clean. The chair in the room was covered with brown stains, carpet also had stains. The walls near the bed were speckled with some sort of splatter. There were hairs in the bathroom on the bathtub and sink. The tank to the toilet was cracked and clearly glued back together. Overall the whole room smelt like mildew.
Front desk was nice and personable when checking in."
"The hot tub actually works and the pool area is nice and relaxing. We travel a lot and that is our favorite amenity! The hot breakfast was perfect; delicious and filling. If you have kids, this hotel is about 10 minutes from a really nice splash pad and playground with covered picnic tables for the parents."
