"This place really exceeded my expectations. In the photos it looked a little dated, which I don't mind but I was really surprised by how nice it was. It was very clean and the room was in very good shape. The entire property is maintained really well. I don't know if it's really a complaint, but next time I would not book a room facing the lake. It costs a little bit extra but I honestly didn't feel like it was worth it. Someone else might enjoy it though."

"This the third year we have stayed at this hotel while we visit relatives in the area. Very cozy, spacious rooms. Nice lounge area, swimming pool and sauna. Owner is friendly and community minded. If you like to walk, you can easily access the trails that take you toward Shell Lake from the hotel. We will definitely be back."

"This hotel is under new ownership and they are working HARD to make it a beautiful property! So many updates have already happened in their first month open. Swimming pool was beautiful and clear. BRAND NEW BEDS and bedspreads- so soft! Most importantly a warm greeting from a family who lives right on property. Excited to see what they continue to do with this Hayward gem!"

"We only stayed for one night. The jets in the whirlpool didn't work. The outside door to the building wouldn't open with your key card. The soda machine took our money, gave us change, but the bottle didn't come out. But we got refunded from the front desk and a bottle of water. Otherwise everything seemed fine. The bed was great, so that makes up for some of the other issues. The staff was really helpful and polite."
