"Escarpment Luxury Lodge is a perfect stop-over for a couple of days. The place was peaceful and beautiful and served amazing relaxation and food.
The staff was amazing - especially Elly!

"As the name would imply, the hotel is located uphill from the main street of the town. The rooms were spacious and were separated by a wall, so each person had their own section. The bathroom was an issue as the toilet, sink and shower were all in the same place, so that if someone had a shower, the whole floor would get wet. The wi-fi was inconsistent but worked better in the dining area. The restaurant had minimal options and you had to order what you wanted for the evening hours beforehand. I...
"They did not have our booking(pre paid) which is understandable somewhat because they are out in the middle of no where, but there was no attempt on the staffs part to help fix the problem. we ended up leaving 1.5 hours later than we wanted and paid with a Card(got a refund from Hotels.com). the hotel needs to have better service. The refund from hotels.com was easy and service on there side great."
"Poor entrance road, without signs, but the place was beautifully constructed with old huge wooden beams in the dining area, good food, beautiful grounds, nice pool and helpful friendly staff"
"Hotel only opened 2 years ago and has a lot of potential . However , it's still lacking in details.
1) the path to getvto the hotel is rough and hard to navigate , 2) the reservation system is not up to scrap and need modernisation , 3) the built suffered in storm , 4) out driver didn't revive a lunch box where we got one from every other lodge .
The hotel can be great with small adjustment and attention to details "

"Beware of the trash burning site nearby. Toxic smoke all day and night. Difficult breathing. "
"An unforgettable start to my safari adventure — highly recommended!
I had the pleasure of spending my first night at Escarpment, Lake Manyara, and it was truly the perfect introduction to the beauty of Tanzania. The lodge is perched above Lake Manyara National Park, offering endless, breathtaking views of the lake and surrounding park — a true feast for the eyes.
The suite was exceptionally spacious, beautifully appointed, and designed to immerse you in nature without sacrificing comfort. What truly stood out, however, was the service: the entire team was warm, attentive, and made me feel genuinely cared for throughout my stay.
One of the most memorable touches was being escorted around the grounds by the Maasai security guards, who ensure guest safety due to the possibility of encountering wildlife roaming freely. In particular, one of the Maasai guides kindly offered to take me on a morning walk to watch the sunrise over Lake Manyara. It was an incredibly authentic and peaceful experience — we were even fortunate enough to spot an elephant wandering nearby, and the three of us stood together, quietly witnessing this magical moment as nature unfolded before us.
Special thanks to the wonderful staff: Vais (who handled my check-in with such warmth), Frank at reception who was incredibly helpful, and the gentleman who served dinner with such attentiveness. Every member of the team contributed to making my stay feel personal and memorable.

"This is a challenging review to write. The property is lovely and the staff was kind-though limited in their ability to resolve the issues. If you are looking for secluded, beautiful and restful, this could be the place for you. However it is located far from any town and further from many of the sites we chose to visit. It was billed as the “perfect location” from which to explore Tarangire and Manyara NPs, but in truth it is a couple of hours from either one of these. Further, they seem only to be associated with one company for game drives and that company has all of their staff and vehicles in Arusha, another three hours away!
Having said all of the above, both companies refunded our payments for an early departure and a game drive misunderstanding. I did very much appreciate their attention to these matters and do not know of anything more they could have done.
Food was very good, including our picnic boxes for the game drive we did do the day we left. Grounds are beautiful and well maintained including a lovely pool area.
Just be sure if you book here that you’re aware of the challenges from being too far to some sites you may want to explore from here."
