"The motel was quite run down on the exterior. The interior seemed clean, unusual handprint on the wall & no hot water. My brother's family also had a room that somehow smelled mike smoke from a room below them. No staff to help with the situation amd they had an 18 month old. Many homeless around and in/out parking lot. Didnt feel super safe to be honest."

"Great location to walk around. Little shops, restaurants, coffee shops, amazing bakery open 25 hours. Staff very friendly and well presented rooms. Only negative comment the heating fan system was annoying."

"The Cottage and Castle is absolutely charming, beautifully decorated and situated in a lovely neighborhood of colourfully painted houses and As well it is anIt’s a real gem. However as we returned after an evening out the stench in the air from a soil, composting, wastewater and recycling treatment plant was overwhelming. I there is a solution to this as Chemainus is a charming town and the Cottage and Castle was exceptional! "

"Staff are very friendly and the location is great! Very walkable to the downtown core without the hotel being too expensive. Breakfast is mostly just muffins from Costco and fruit. There’s oatmeal, hard boiled eggs, tea and coffee, but don’t expect hot sausages, scrambled eggs or a waffle maker. "
