The building is older, small repairs could make it nicer ( like toilet seat not secured proper and airconditioning is old/noisy , but it proved adequate. Bed and bath were clean and pillows and bed linens were great, towels not so much. There was a fair amount of street noise but that lessened in the late night. The breakfast was the basic continental and they were green-minded 👍 All staff was friendly and helpful. The gentleman working the desk came up and helped us with the TV.
For summertime only 12 minutes from Lake Michigan, I think it was a fair $ value. Some colorful characters were hanging around out front, made us a bit uneasy, don’t know what that was about, but it caused us no problems and not likely a steady issue. We were looking for a clean bed for a night while on the road. Michigan City and New Buffalo on Lake Michigan are both a short drive. It was A LOT less expensive to stay here, and LaPorte is a lake town as well.
