"The room was very clean. Love the layout of the bathroom, especially the walk-in shower. Plenty of counter space in the main room and bathroom. Comfortable beds."
"We came to the area to explore Indiana Dunes national and state parks, and this hotel is very conveniently located. (It is also very near the Dune Park train station, which we used to hop on the South Shore Line to Chicago one morning to visit the Shedd Aquarium and Field Museum. Yay for not having to drive and park in Chicago traffic!)
The rooms do show their age a bit, but we just thought that gave it character. Most importantly, it was very clean and comfortable. Our balcony faced into the wooded part of the property and we saw birds, squirrels, and chipmunks every day of the visit. It was extremely quiet and peaceful, though I expect things get a bit livelier when the summer tourist season gets into full swing.
The staff were extremely kind and helpful. The free breakfast was basic but tasty, with a nice variety of cereals and pastries, and there was both regular and chocolate batter available for the waffle maker each morning.
Would absolutely stay here again next time we're in the area!"
"We were there for just a quick overnight. The self check in did not work and it took a minute to get a real person at the desk. The pool and spa were out of order but we did not plan to use them. We did not visit the casino while we were there. This is a good place for a reasonable overnight that is away from the main drag and other chain hotels."
"I stayed here over 20 years ago when it was a Hampton Inn, and the building is looking a little dated. Room was good sized. Lobby was still nice. However, the only breakfast foods were make-your-own waffles, and stale bread products. No fruit or hot foods like eggs, sausage, or potatoes that we were expecting. Swimming pool had been drained and the treadmill was out of order. Glad I wasn’t counting on using those."
"Very friendly service; the breakfast was fresh and varied. The parking was good, though they could improve the quality of the towels and their scent."
"The breakfast was awful and wasn't worth the cost. The carpets in the hallways and the elevator needed vacuuming. The room floors were dirty, as was the toilet, and the double beds were full-size, making it uncomfortable for two people to sleep in them. It was an unpleasant stay."
