TLDR...The resort is absolutely beautiful, the views of the volcano are majestic. We only ate breakfast there, but I personally cannot understand why some people rate the breakfast badly, I'll explain later.

We got delayed at the Liberia airport and our rental was given away. So after every single rental car representative at the airport had only 1 luxury SUV left, for $1200 for 8 days, I called Amex Yravel and somehow they found me a car for $500, weird.
So I'd planned to be at Paradise around 545 pm and avoid having to drive on unfamiliar roads at night. I was also concerned the Resort would give away my room if I showed up late but I was able to easily communicate with the hotel via Whatsapp and let them know we'd be late.
It's supposed to be a 2 hr 45 minute drive, but in the dark, in the mountains, in an unfamiliar place it was a 3 hr and 20 minute drive. Avoid driving at night in Costa Rica if you haven't done it before.
Check in was an absolute breeze, and I immediately felt my anxiety from the white knuckle drive.
They had a man come down, load up our bags and bring us to our room. We got a suite that was facing Arenal Volcano.
I can say this was the nicest, most spacious suite I have ever seen! We were on a 3rd story suite with an incredible view of Arenal Volcano.
