"the breakfast was great. the pool was a nice way to relax at the end of a long travel day. the staff was terrific. the grounds were a delight. flowers, birds, and butterflies everywhere. however, just an fyi: to those susceptible, like me there are pretty bad mosquitos. especially on the river walk. my wife noticed at the end of our stay that there is mosquito repellent at the desk. "

"Beautiful property right on the river. There are so many beautiful birds and gardens. A sloth hug out in the tree right outside the door. It was never more than 6 meters above the ground. Great closeup interaction. Just after midday a group of 30 plus monkeys slowly passed thru the trees on the riverbank. The host prepared dinner and breakfast and it was delicious. Rooms are very very clean with cold AC. Outdoor kitchen has ample space and a great place to converse with other guests. I took a refreshing swim in the river. Quiet and peaceful. The owners make you feel at home. "

The amenities were particularly notable, because the hotel is attached to a local country club so there's an Olympic pool with a waterslide, a second pool, a great hot tub, a very good gym, a poolside bar and lounging area, even a tennis court.
