We stayed on the ground floor and had a wonderful experience—a spacious bedroom facing a small, traditional courtyard, with convenient hotel facilities nearby. One staff member spoke excellent English, and even the Japanese-speaking staff were very helpful, assisting us by calling our next hotel in Kaga Onsen to arrange a pick-up bus. "Excellent restaurant- awesome Sashimi. Unfortunately closed on Monday nights? Need transportation to get around. ( I took taxi kinda spendy. )The Spa has awesome natural spring water. The staff eas awesome."

"客室の古さも感じました。 宿泊者特典もあったが、全て終了時間が早かった。 (カラオケ1時間無料とあるが 、21時までとか)。チェックイン15時からの時間でないと取れない。 フロントスタッフが笑いながら、私達に説明している姿に腹が立ちそうになりました。 また、お風呂入替え制でしたが、女性風呂時間に男性が入っていた。スタッフが注意をしてくれたが、そもそも、わかるようにインフォメーションしてほしい。 夕食バイキングでしたが、食材盛り皿の回りが、落ちていても気にならないスタッフでした。雄山閣は人には進めないと思いました。"

"We were blown away by how unique the whole experience was and how hospitable the hotel staff was. We were given slippers and traditional robes when we arrived and our luggage was carried to the room for us. Our room was very quaint with a whole tea setup prepared at the table. The dinner was an incredible, elaborate experience that we weren’t expecting. The gardens were beautiful and the hot springs were so relaxing. "

"I love the Tanbo no Yu! I can tell that its being fixed up more everytime I come here! This time, really enjoyed the pure stream bath it was very warm and a comfortable place to chat with my husband. The food was delicious and healthy with many flavors and unlimited hokuriku rice! "The facilty is old & the room smelled of cigarettes, but everything else was wonderful. If looking for authentic Japanese experience (for the working and middle class Japanese) this is a very good experience. Dinner and breakfast buffet was really good. However there's little to do around the lake, unlike Yamashiro ir Yamanaka onsen area. "

"This was my first time to stay in a Ryokan (traditional Japanese inn) and I really like it! The hotel was a bit old but still in good condition. They have indoor & outdoor hotspring pool plus many other facilities for you to enjoy during your stay. Buffet breakfast & dinner both were great too. Free shuttle service available too to pick up from/drop off to Kagaonsen station. Thumb up!"
