The Gibb River Road is an absolutely amazing experience. Its in my Top 5 List of Places to Visit in Australia and it is truly a special destination with postcard perfect waterholes, pounding waterfalls and spectacular sunsets over one of Australia's most picturesque ranges, the Cockburns! (not pronounced as dirty as its spelt, but rather as 'coburn'.) You can hire a 4WD from Broome or Kununurra or jump on a tour with one of the off-road tour buses. We loved our stay at Mt Hart. We spent 2 nights, one in a natures view bell tent and one in a homestead room. Did this due to avaialility and having 1 afternoon with air-conditioning for our 2yo to nap. Tents are as per photos, spacious and comfortable - little electric "generator" was handy for ...

The facilities are very good, as is the food. The parking is a little inconvenient, and it's quite a way to lug your luggage to the glamorous tents. There are little trucks, but that part of the experience is a bit off-putting, but the rest was very nice.

One of our favorite stops along the Gibb River Road was visiting Tunnel Creek. Bring a bright glowing torch to walk through the natural cave here and beware of the occasional small and "harmless" freshwater crocodiles that might be down there by the water!
