"This place is somewhat tough to review. It had pluses and minuses. Room was decent in the renovated tower. Our AC went out after several days and we had to change rooms as they were unable to fix it. We had an 18 month old with us and having to pack up the room to move, only to have to repack again upon checking out. They did wipe out the charge for a days rent on the cabana by the pool. The cabanas are great place to relax, comfortable and able to block wind and provide shade. The pool seemed clean and the water was a great temperature. The restaurant on site was a blessing, easy to grab breakfast on your way out. Also with the little guy, it made grabbing togo dinner convenient and we spent one evening in the cabana with dinner. The stairwell did smell of cat piss but was the only area that I noticed a foul smell.
The hotel is very close to amenities like the airport, walmart, groceries and malls. It is centrally located and heading to all parts of the island are fairly easy. 15 minutes from Kihei, 25 minutes from Makena Beach, 2 hours to Hana, 90 minutes to the summit of Haleakala and 45 minutes to Lahaina. This made getting around the island to see the sites very convenient.
For the convenience and price this place was excellent. If you’re looking for a high end resort, look somewhere else like the Four Seasons or other places on south shore. If you’re looking for a place that is easy in and easy out and keep a little one where nothing is too far or difficult, it work"
"I stayed in the Kai tower, the beds were super comfortable and the room was spacious. Staff was super friendly and the place was spotless. Multiple pools and hot tubs. No need to pay extra for a cabana by the pool was a big plus. Food and drinks at the pool cafe hit the spot. Live music at night was a plus. Conveniently located too. Walking distance to restaurants, grocery store, and the beach!"
"Our stay here was absolutely incredible from start to finish. The property itself is stunning, with breathtaking scenic views and a perfect location that made everything convenient and enjoyable. Every restaurant we tried served delicious food with great variety and quality. What truly made the experience exceptional was the staff — everyone was so warm, welcoming, and attentive throughout our stay. This is easily one of the best resorts we’ve ever stayed at, and we can’t wait to come back."
"Our room airconditioner stopped wroking two times- one late in the day and the other at 3 am in the morning!. It's good my husband is an engineer and was able to fix it!"
"Young man who checked us in was unbelievable, great at his job. Food trucks availability was unique and smart. Shuttle and knowledge of airport workings the best.
Only downfall was the fire alarm went off for a small fire which was put out. The man at counter checked rooms and on us. He remembered I build, I told him the fire alarm panel was in silence and arrest mode. It will go off again it did. As we checked out the person who was trying to fix and reset panel showed-up 7 hours later and no one knew where the FCAP was.
Its ironic how the man who checked us in at the front counter who I would pick as the manager over all, knew where it was but was already off shift change and the new person knew nothing and said that person was on lunch.
The recap is the man who checked us in, knew the property, took control of the situation, guided hotel workers and firemen to solve a situation that could have emptied the property. It was a life safety event that could have cost Marriott a good amount of money. The property was great, the man who checked us in went above and beyond his title and made me think Marriott is a great place to stay."
"The condo was well stocked. It had everything needed including beach towels. The only notes that I would make are that scissors in the unit would be helpful for opening food items. The coffee cups are really small but we just bought souvenir cups and used them instead. The unit was very clean and cozy."
