"The cabin was an excellent calming retreat listening to only the sounds of the birds and nature. The steps up to the cabins can be a bit steep (up to 30cm/ 12 inches) but assuming you are there to hike Park Tayrona it's a good warm up for the trails in the park. "The grand Marina hotel / apartments is a great place to stay. I speak poor Spanish and the staff was able to speak English which was great. The room was awesome. The property connects to the Marriott and shares its pool, bar, gym, and other amenities. I had a poolside massage which was phenomenal and inexpensive. The area of town is great, understanding that Columbia is quite poor. There is a grocery store one block away. Our room had a lot of space, good air conditioning, washing machine that also dried the clothes, kitchen, and living room with fantastic views. The views were phenomenal. It is not beachfront, maybe half a block from the beach, but it's so darn hot it was hard to spend much time on the beach for us. We had an issue with the fire alarm sounding and they took care of that promptly. There was also an issue with hot water in one of the two bathrooms and that wasn't resolved but also wasn't a big deal for us. A comment about the beach, it appears that one of the central waterfront hotels claimed the beach in front of it and patrols it. I went for a run early in the morning and was told to turn around so as not go on their beach. That felt weird coming from the US. I would definitely like to return to this place again, great place."
