John Howell Memorial Park

Great location in Tech Square. Lots of places to catch a quick bite when needed. Also, convenient and not too expensive parking for the Atlanta Midtown area. We attended during labor day weekend to attend DragonCon. It was nice to be able to easily get to the convention (walking about 20 minutes, also Uber and plenty of scooters available) yet be at a more quiet relaxed location than staying at one of the convention hotels.

The proximity to State Farm Arena was what we liked . The downsides. The pullout bed had no linens. I could have called for some, I know, but I just pulled a cover off the bed and gave my grandson a couple of pillows because it was late. Would have been better if linens were already there. The little area to buy food and drinks obviously needed re-stocking. Nothing much to choose from. The only drinks were water, sprite and coke. Not much in the snack area either. But the biggest complaint was the breakfast. It was terrible. No eggs, no grits or potatoes. A croissant sandwich that needed to be nuked. The biggest disappointment was no waffle batter to make waffles! And no apple juice! Truly the worst hotel breakfast I've ever had. I hate to leave bad reviews. But it was overall only an okay stay.
