"Hermosa Beach in Costa Rica is easily the best ocean swim I have ever had. The waves are massive and completely relentless—just wave after wave. But you need to be a good swimmer if you are going to go in. The currents are very strong. I was wiped out in just five minutes, while some surfers were effortlessly riding them for three hours. It makes sense, though—fighting the edge is where the real workout is, while the deeper water lets you actually ride the energy. The hotel is right on the beach. We landed a day early, cutting the stay at La Fortuna by a day. We got a different room, but Jacob offered me the better room. As it turned out, there was a beach facing room but it was occupied. The following day, he transferred us to that room and didn't even charge us. The service is terrific, the rooms were great and the stay was simply amazing. Will definitely stay here again if I return to Costa Rica."

"The room had cockroaches, it was not clean at all. The bed board was very dirty and let’s not even talk about the bathroom. Very disappointed. Food was not good neither were the drinks. Honestly, not worth it at all. Bathroom towels were dirty."

"Todo fue excelente desde la, atención en el mostrador Hasta la, salida del hotel. En el restaurante la comida muy buena, y la, atención excelente. Los precios si son un poco altos. El happy hour muy bien. La, habitación muy aseada. El precio de la, estadía con desayuno excelente. La, decoración dentro y fuera del hotel muy buena y atractiva en especial en la parte de la playa. Gracias por la, atención. Siempre la, paso excelente he ido muy a, menudo a terraza Del Pacifico. Es mi lugar preferido en la, zona de jaco."

"The hotel is very nice but missing many basics which is strange given the hotel was recently remodeled. As a couple of examples, there is no shelf in the shower for putting on shampoo or soap bottles, a lack of hooks for hanging up wet towels, and no desk so very hard to do any computer work. A small investment in some of these common sense improvements would make it a great place. Staff were fabulous."
