Scandinavian Lodge

"The lodge was charming and clean. The amenities (kitchen, bathtub, and fireplace) were great. The fireplace didn’t always stay on the for the time selected and the jets for the bathtub weren’t working. However, both might be due to user error. The lady who checked me in the evening was friendly, the morning one wasn’t as much. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay at this lodge and it made my stay at a regular hotel afterward feel a bit disappointing."

"I can tell they've been updating the place recently. The property still needs a little work, but my room was renovated and beautiful! The bathroom was huge. The bed is the most comfortable bed I have slept in in a very long time. The owner/manager is friendly, inviting, and accommodating. I love that you can use the Great Room, which has a sitting area that's like a living room, and a full kitchen. It's open for all guests to use. The location is also ideal: a bit farther north than the busy cities, quiet, very close to the water, and with easy access to all fun adventures on DC. I will stay here again when I come back to DC! Highly recommend!"

"Beautiful location. Best view of the sunset over the lake. Close to area attractions. Ask for rooms 101-104,201-205 or 301-303 for best view of water. If on first floor by the pool your view will be obstructed by the fence. Our room had a kitchen, King bed with large jetted tub. We definitely will return."

"The Country House Resort is a well maintained outstanding property! The room was large, clean, beds very comfortable and the view from the balcony was beautiful! The luxurious robe was much appreciated when we went to the hot tub but unfortunately the outdoor pool was all ready closed for the season. The breakfast was tasty with a good variety to choose from and included which was a nice surprise. I would definitely stay there again."
