The hotel is in an excellent location and the staff were so helpful with parking, restaurants and information about Matera. This enhanced our stay.

Where do I start? I have too many amazing things to say about this 'hotel' We arrived around 10pm and were given a tour and told the history of the caves and this hotel they must've been waiting for us to arrive but we were not rushed at all! Given a free upgrade to our room which was just phenomenal! So cosy and warm and everything so intimately designed to keep the cave 'genuine' it was so beautiful we could've stayed in the cave all weekend and not gone outside! Breakfast was lovely and all...

We had a lovely stay at the Cenobio Hotel. It is in an old convent and the architecture is beautiful. We had room 6 which was comprised 2 sleeping areas, with wonderful arched ceilings and built from the original stone. We had a large terrace outside with an incredible view over the gorge. To get to the hotel, we parked in a car park reserved by the hotel. We had a brilliant welcome by the staff who couldn't have been more helpful in explaining where to park, best route to see the sights and good restaurants. Lovely breakfast too. We opted for the "comfort" room and had an extremely spacious cave room. couldn't have been better

Amazing location in the heart of Matera. Simple but nice breakfast. Our room was quiet and comfortable bed and pillows. Great shower with mood lighting!

We went for a romantic weekend, weather as 22 c Dry , materia was clean, the hotel staff especially in the restaurant were very friendly and couldn’t do enough for us , we would recommend staying half board, food was fantastic, the room was clean , the only negative ( no English channels) so we couldn’t watch anything while getting ready for dinner! But again overall it was brilliant well done!!!

Perfectly placed for old town and wonderfully appointed and staffed hotel. An absolute pleasure and highly recommended.
