The capital of the prefecture stands 470m above sea level, and has more than 75,000 inhabitants. The city is built on the coast of Lake Pamvotida, which adds a particular character to it. Ioannina is a traditional city, with many picturesque niches.

King Pyrros is a disgrace to Ioannina. The room was dirty. We found hair on the floor, old juice box in the fridge. The bathroom had barely been mopped.
