"Really disappointed. Reserved a suite. Checked in and let them know I had a dog. Was told dogs not allowed upstairs and had to take a room on ground level. So, on top of getting a lesser room and no refund on the difference, got charged for the dog.
At 1am somebody tried to get into our room. I popped up, looked out and didn't see anybody. 10 minutes later, somebody had a key to our room, opened the door but I had the safety latch on, so they didn't make it all the way into the room. It was a gal with a baby.
Wife called down to front desk and demanded a new key and that somebody had access to our room. NOT HAPPY.
I put two and two together the next morning. The gal that tried to get into the room forgot what room she was in and her key didn't work. So, front desk gave her a key to the room we were in. What pissed me off, they didn't ask the gal for ID nor check what room she was actually in. If I would have had a gun and hadn't thrown the safety latch, somebody could have ended up getting shot.
I did talk to the gal that tried to get into our room and she profusely apologized about the incident. I didn't blame her, but front desk certainly is to blame on what could have been a disaster instead just two pissed off people that lost sleep over this avoidable incident.
MAJOR FAIL."
"We were disappointed with the room. The alarm clock with the phone charging ports didn’t work, the screen door was missing, the toilet you had to hold the handle down for the toilet to flush, only 2 tiny trash cans available, when I went to empty the trash, all of the outdoor trash cans were overflowing until the following day. We tried eating at the lodge in the dining room. Waited 20 minutes and still weren’t offered drinks or silverware and noticed everyone in the dining room were still waiting on their food, so we ended up leaving. A biker gang came into the parking lot revving up their engines and driving through the grass and a guy interrupted us and others very rudely on a paddle board while we were trying to fish talking ignorant to everyone saying he could do what he wanted. My husband and his family have been visiting for decades and this weekend was the worst experience we have ever experienced. Definitely not worth $500 for our stay."
"Check-in was a problem. New computer system at the lodge didn't pull any Expedia reservations over so they had to create my reservation while I was standing there. They also tried to get payment from Expedia while I was standing there. After about 30 minutes. They let me go ahead and go to my room. Also worth noting that cell phone reception is spotty at best, mostly non-existent.
Otherwise, the facility was beautiful."
"The room AC/heater wasn't working properly. Bathroom locked were broken. Room were very occupied and dark. Lighting wasn't good. Overall, I didn't enjoy my stay. Need much renovation. Furniture was very old fashioned."
