I recently stayed at the British Colonial Nassau. The hotel is located right beside the cruise ship docks, and from the back of the property there is beach access — however, you’ll still see the cruise ships from there. Keep in mind that this area is very busy during the daytime because of the cruises (there were about four docking daily during our stay). At night, though, the area becomes very quiet and most places close early. Breakfast at the hotel is $40 per person, which feels quite expensive. Thankfully, there’s a McDonald's directly across the street (go early because it gets very busy), and Olde Nassau Café nearby offers a great breakfast and coconut rum pound cake for local Bahamian breakfast there Bohemian cooking restaurant definitely a better choice and more authentic option. For dinner, options are limited at night, but Ibichan Restaurant is open until 9:00 PM and offers decent food at reasonable prices. If you book through Expedia or similar third-party websites, be aware of additional costs: there is a resort fee of about $49 USD per day, and parking costs around $35 USD per day. The rooms were decent. The sheets were comfortable, though the mattress was a bit too soft for my liking but for a short stay, it was fine. They use feather pillows, so keep that in mind if you have allergies. The AC worked well, which is important in Nassau. The staff were nice and friendly. Overall, it’s a pretty standard hotel, perfectly fine for a short stay of a few days.

This is a fantastic resort! The room was clean and comfortable and looked just like the website photos. The staff was absolutely amazing. They were -- every single one of them -- friendly, welcoming, and helpful. Lady Sara, the concierge, can fix up any excursions a guest might want to do. There is a nice pool area with slides for the kids. There are hammocks and games and loungers available. We had a lagoon room, which was peaceful and enchanting. The beach has nice sand and good swimming, with plenty of sea creatures to look at. Good restaurants are within easy walking distance. The resort offers a tasty breakfast, too. I cannot say enough good things about our stay. We had a wonderful time!
