"We really loved our stay! It is a beautiful spot and the home is well built in the high winds.
We had a few small issues we noticed and the hosts were quick to take care of them while we were there.
We did not quite realize the altitude was as high as it was, (we were coming from 1,000 feet) but the view and beauty made it worth it.
The sauna, hot tub and wood stove were all wonderful ways to stay warm in the chilly winter. "

"These are the cutest rustic cabins next to a river with the best laid back outdoor atmosphere. I would book with them again and want to bring my family next time. Great experience and it is just outside of downtown Evergreen."

"Great location in Idaho springs. Quiet and easily walkable into town center. Also very close to Indian Hot Springs. Love the view and sound of the river right behind the property! The room itself was clean, comfortable, and spacious. Perfect spot!!"
"Parking was easy and the staff was friendly. We had a late check in and very early departure and didn't use many amenities - but there was plenty available (soap, shampoo, plenty of towels, tissues, etc.). The bed was very comfortable. For the price...I was pleasantly surprised. Would stay there again."
"It always confuses me when a hotel doesn’t service guest rooms regularly. For instance, there was one very small wastebasket in the bathroom. No where else. There was a kitchenette in our small suite and we made coffee every morning with a drip coffee maker. The only place to throw the coffee grounds was in the bathroom wastebasket. It seems silly that we need to take grounds and everything else to the bathroom to throw away. The wastebasket was not large enough and needed emptying daily. I had to request that daily. Also, I want clean towels daily. I had to request these daily. Please! Just service the suite daily. Our bed was made for us one day out of four. That’s ok. I don’t need clean sheets but I do want clean towels and the garbage collected daily without my requesting it. Thank you!"
"Here's a version written from your husband's perspective:
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I had a fantastic stay at the Monarch Hotel in Black Hawk. The hotel is beautiful, upscale, and extremely clean. The rooms are modern and comfortable, with great amenities and updated technology that made the stay feel luxurious.
The mountain views were incredible, and the entire property was well-maintained and inviting. The buffet was excellent, offering plenty of delicious choices and quality food.
I spent some time in the casino and really enjoyed the atmosphere. The dealers were professional, friendly, and easy to talk to, which made the experience even more enjoyable. We even won a little money, so that was a nice bonus!
What impressed me most was the customer service. Everyone we encountered—from the front desk to the casino staff—was welcoming, helpful, and genuinely kind.
I would definitely stay at the Monarch again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and entertaining mountain escape."
"Honestly, the name confused me. I somehow assumed that The Lodge at Breckenridge was at the ski resort, which it is not. Nevertheless, we had a lovely stay. The restaurant was good. The hot tubs are good. The rooms are adequate. Our TV wasn’t working, which was a shame. The staff were very nice."
