Upon coming off the boat from Maldives the hotel driver was waiting for us, helped us with our luggage, when we had arrived 10 minutes later it started to rain, we were greeted by two others that gave us a umbrella each and handled our luggage to reception, easy check in & everything was explained about breakfast bar etc, all of the room was explained fully, we had a lovely room with great views, dinner was very good and reasonable & the view was of the bay & the airport, easy checkout. Transfer was excellent! Check in was stress free. Staff were amazing and so helpful. Location was lovely and peaceful, just what we needed after a long flight. We booked a massage on our arrival which was absolutely fantastic! We stayed at the Ocean Grand for one night on arrival to Male, the hotel staff were great, Sanjay the hotel manager was very helpful. The hotel is small but well kept and it is just across the road from the beach. The hotel is very convenient as it is located on the same island as the airport, so transfers are very quick. The room was a little on the small side, but was sufficient for one night.

One night stay arriving late and leaving early. Perfectly good for this purpose. Staff who greeted us on arrival were good and helped us pay our taxi driver who didn't have change. Thank you!

Overlooking the beach this was a great place to enjoy swimming in safe waters or dining at the local restaurants offering excellent food. Also it’s a handy place to visit Male using the local bus, ferry or taxi.

I stayed here for 2 nights and needed an early check-in and late check-out. The hotel was able to accomodate quite easily with minimal cost. The room was all good and generally quite although as a suggestion I would remommend getting some rubber buffers on the door to prevent door banging as that was very disturbing or some soundproofing. Really liked our stay at Star Shell. The staff are excellent and super helpful. We were travelling with two young kids and honestly their service and friendliness really made our trip so much easier. This Inn is an excellent value for money place to stay in the Maldives.
