The room was too warm even when I put the thermostat on the minimum, I tried to mitigate the problem by opening the window but a strong smell of manure was coming from outside. For the breakfast I was expecting something more, I could not eat eggs as they were eaten by the other guests and nobody refilled the buffet. I didn't like that when I checked out they asked me for money, despite I did already payed in advance through Expedia.It took a while to convince them and at the end they asked me to pay only the taxes that, by the way, were higher than it was written on Expedia.

Hund und Herrchen hat's gefallen

Ich war auf der Durchreise mit Hund. Wir wurden entspannt empfangen und tatsächlich zu unserem Zimmer begleitet (kenne ich sonst nur von wesentlich teureren und leider meist blasierten Herbergen). Das scheinbar recht junge Team pflegt einen angenehm entspannten Umgang, ohne dass die Professionalität zu kurz kommt. Die Speisekarte im Restaurant war (Corona bedingt) übersichtlich, aber wohl sortiert. Ich hatte einen ausgesprochen leckeren Ziegenkäsesalat und mein Hund hatte seinen bisher besten ' Gruß aus der Küche' 😋 Kurz gesagt: jederzeit wieder.

Tråkigt läge i mindre by, inget utbud att prata om. Sängarna var något hårda. Mycket flugor i restaurangen, vi frågade efter en flugsmälla och satt sedan och käkade middag samtidigt som vi jagade flugor. Helt ok mat.

Logieren in einem Schloss mit Ritter-Bar und Speisesaal, modern eingerichtetem Zimmer und sehr freundlichem Service. Das Frühstücksbuffet war excellent! Wir hatten einen sehr angenehmen Aufenthalt und können dieses Hotel nur empfehlen!

Pleasant experience

Obviously the building is very awesome. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed, so we were not able to try it (Currently only open at weekends). Room was clean and comfy. Service was very friendly and helpful. Overall we had a very nice stay.

Best teleurstellend. We hadden anders verwacht.

Vond het hotel de 4 sterren niet waard. Het was leuk dat het een oud kasteel was geweest en de kamer was schoon. Daar bleef het wat ons betreft bij. De wifi werkte niet. Het restaurant was gesloten. Geen ontbijtbuffet. Je moest de avond tevoren doorgeven wat je de volgende dag wilde ontbijten. Er werden maar een paar broodjes bij geserveerd, waaronder een pretsel waar we niet van houden. Verkapte bezuiniging dus. Het bed vonden we niet fijn slapen . De stoffen kast in de kamer was ook niet iets waar we blij van worden. Het personeel was vriendelijk, maar liep zichzelf voorbij vanwege alles wat ze moesten doen. Dus vergaten ze wel eens wat. Waar het hotel niets aan kon doen was het gebeier van de kerkklokken, die om 6 uur 's ochtends al begonnen. We waren dus best wel teleurgesteld. Te meer omdat we er meer van verwacht hadden gezien de prijs per nacht.

Great stay for couples

Great stay at Hopferau! Friendly personal all over and a beautiful, clean room. We had a tasty, nice dinner as well and the breakfast is served after your own wishes - which we loved instead of buffet. Overall a perfect, spontan stay for us on our way to Austria :)

Sehr sauberes und ruhiges Hotel in guter Lage. Haben uns hier sehr wohl gefühlt. Ebenso können wir das Restaurant loben. Das Abendessen (nicht inklusive) war ausgesprochen gut mit ansprechendem Service. Überhaupt nicht dazu passend war das Frühstück. Es gibt kein Buffet, sondern nur eine einzige Bedienung, die sich um alle Gäste kümmern muss. Und für jeden Zusatzwunsch 10min warten ist keine Option. Ebenso war die initiale Menge und Qualität des Frühstücks sehr sehr mau. Würden daher in Zukunft ein anderes Hotel wählen.

We really enjoyed staying in Germany's (quite possibly) oldest castle... it is an experience! Beds were comfortable, bathroom was clean, breakfast was tasty... and most importantly, staff was very friendly, welcoming and had great tips for us to explore the surroundings! We recommend this place!

Wir haben ein Doppelzimmer gebucht und mit Zimmer 24 einen Schlauch mit 2 eingebauten Einzelbetten erhalten. Hier wäre ein Hinweis angebracht gewesen, dass kein Doppelzimmer mehr frei ist.

Schloss zu Hopferau überzeugt durch ein sehr freundliches, junges und motiviertes Team, durch eine zauberhafte historische Kulisse und durch sehr viel Charakter. Wer den Glanz vergangener Zeiten erleben will und dabei sehr gut untergebracht sein möchte, muss Schloss Hopferau einen Besuch abstatten. Die Zimmer sind schön eingerichtet (wenngleich man den Charme von rotem Samt wohl mögen sollte). Besonders hervorzuheben ist die Sauberkeit des Bads, hier wird scheinbar mit sehr viel Liebe zum Detail bzw. mit sehr viel Wissen gereinigt - dieses Niveau bieten manche 5-Sterne-Häuser nicht! Einziger Wermutstropfen ist (zumindest für mich) das Frühstück. Zwar ist vorhanden, was man erwartet (Wurst, Käse, Müsli, Obst, Eierspeisen zur Auswahl, etc.), aber es fehlt die Raffinesse. Das Allgäu bietet mehr wie 4 Stücke Käse. Auch in der Wurstauswahl, bei den Marmeladen oder bei den Getränken sollten sich die tollen Produkte der Region wiederfinden. In Summe hatten wir einen tollen Aufenthalt. Wir freuen uns heute schon auf ein Wiedersehen in Schloss Hopferau und auf ein Frühstücksbuffett 2.0!
