Hackett Lakes Fishery These large lakes are off Sandy Lane and are well stocked with fish. Privately run they are on the fringes of the vast complex of flooded gravel workings by the River Trent that make up the Holme Pierrepont National Water Sports Centre and Country Park.

Holme Pierrepont Hall With St Edmond's Church to the left. As early as the 12th century the Manor of Holme was in possession of the Manvers family, and the second name was added in 1280, when the sole heiress was married to Henry Pierrepont, a descendent of the Pierreponts who came to England with William the Conqueror. in France. The house was built in 1500 by William Pierrepont and is the oldest brick building in Nottinghamshire.

Blott's pit Takes its name from the adjacent country club at Holme Pierrepont. The (current) 1:50000 OS maps do not show the extent of water correctly; the 1:25000 is up-to-date.
