This was not just an overnight stop… this was an experience. View of the glacier from the room, view of the glacier from our own hot tub, peaceful night resting and a lovely breakfast waiting for us in the morning.

Glacier World was an excellent stay a short drive outside of Hofn. The staff was very friendly and breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Heed the staffs warning about midges. I sat in the hot tub for 30 minutes and got eaten alive. The only thing I could recommend is, I wish they served dinner. It wasn't a terrible drive into Hofn, but then I had to deal with parking and crowds. After a day of driving, it would have been nice to just sit in the dining room and enjoy the glacier view.

It was a nice choice for me because of the excellent breakfast which includes a great variety of choices and the bathtub that made me feel so relaxed and created a charming memory of my Icelandic Adventure. Be there before 9p.m. if you want to get your keys from the reception. I noticed that they closed everything on time, Reception, Breakfast, bathtub, check out!!! In the morning, my plan was go to the bathtub after breakfast( they started putting everything away 15 minutes before closing) Stay into the water until 10:45a.m., go to the room and do the check out at 11a.m. At 10:55 I had someone knocking my door telling me they need to clean the bedroom and she didn't start with the first one and I was the last one ( Room 7) in the hallway. Lights are missing in front of the property, it was unsafe to take my luggage out in the dark.

Lovely stay

Lovely set hotel. We had a nice big and clean room. Friendly staff and we finished our long drive there with a nice dip in the geothermal pool and a cold beer.

The hotel was so comfortable with heating floor system. The breakfast was pretty simple but we appreciated the staff specially prepared the breakfast earlier for us as we need to head out earlier for our glacier excursion. We enjoyed the hot tub very much! We can even saw the glacier from the hotel room! Highly recommended!

Let's just start with the pros: Helpful staff, terrific views of a glacier during your morning breakfast, and a hot tub to boot! Beds are comfy and clean. Also, there's a free breakfast which can be quite yummy to start the day right. Some particular cons to staying here, as the location is a tad on the older side, some of the rooms have clogged sinks that don't drain well, not to mention the showers have a bit of mold/mildew around the corners of them. Also, like many showers in Europe/Iceland, they seem to love the lip/rim-less shower so waters goes everywhere. Maybe I'm just a spoiled American but I'm not a fan of this, but YMMV. There's also a ton of bugs/biting flies in this area, and there are no screens so beware of biting flies in the warmer months. The ventilation is somewhat poor in the rooms due to this conundrum, flies vs warm/stuffy room. A reasonable stay if you're only there 1 night but I wouldn't stay more than that.
