Himarë Trip

The hotel is very basic overall. The rooms are simple, the bathrooms are quite small, and the hallways have an overwhelming cleaning fragrance that can be unpleasant. One important detail that is not clearly disclosed in the listing is that the pool, bar, and restaurant are not actually located in this hotel. Guests must leave the building, cross the street, and use the facilities at the neighboring The President Hotel. The photos give the impression that these amenities are part of the property, which I found misleading. Another frustrating issue was the complete lack of communication. Multiple phone calls and messages were sent over the course of 3 days, but none were ever answered. Being unable to reach the hotel before arrival made resolving questions or issues impossible and significantly impacted the overall experience.

Very clean and nice, loved it

The room was not clean. There was no shower curtain, and I was unable to obtain one after asking five times. The shower was also not equipped with cold water. The king bed was the worst I have ever had. The mattress was shaped like a “W” and I had to stay in the centre to avoid falling into a hole. The valet was indifferent to returning the key or assisting the guests. I believe I would have had a more enjoyable experience at the Holiday Inn two blocks south.

Nothing great about this hotel. The hotel is in need of a remodel. We had mold all in the shower and under the sink faucets. No help from the three guys working outside to help with bags. Just three guys standing around trying to not make eye contact with you. You have about 6-7 steps to get your luggage up. We tried to ask about a taxi. We stood at his work station and he never would acknowledge me, until I said excuse me and then told me to go inside to book one. The front desk staff were not friendly at all. We had to wait awhile to get our room which we knew. After 3 hours I went to check because I watched three people walk up and get a room. Acted put out because I didn’t receive the email notification to tell me my room was ready and why was I up there. The worker got me keys to our room. Sheets dirty The luggage was supposed to be brought up to our room. Nope! After an hour of waiting, we went to get our luggage. We got in from an excursion at 10 pm. We brought a slice of pizza back to the hotel lobby and ate it at the tables they have where you can eat. After the fact, when I took my trash to the guy to throw away, he said “next time, don’t bring food from outside to eat in here.” There were no signs put out that mention that. And we bought a piece of cake from their store to eat. The pool is small for a Riu. I was out tanning by the pool and the guy never came by to ask if I wanted a drink in the 3 hours I was out there. I know, I know, third world problems.
