Heringsdorf is located on the island Usedom in the Baltic Sea, boasting some of the best seaside resorts in Germany and Poland. Inaugurated in 1995 as a replacement for the Emperor William Pier, which was built in 1893 and burned down in the mid-20th century, it is the longest promenade pier in Germany. The pier is also home to the town's main entertainment complex, with a cinema, hotels, restaurants and more.
