The property owners were super nice. The food was very good. The place was old and creeky, but had some charm. Our room was small to say the least, and only had a tiny rocker to sit in and it was creeky too. We were two people and needed two chairs. The rooms were not worth what we paid and probably would not stay there again for that reason.

Hi Teresa, I am sorry your room was too small for you, we have rooms of all different sizes, and we wish we could have accommodated your needs better.
The Henderson is a very charming and rustic place to stay. It is in a great location and is very convienent to the local shops, restaurants and pubs. The host and staff are very friendly and accommodating. They provide two choices for breakfast each morning. The meals are delicious. We plan on making the Henderson our play to stay when visiting my hometown of Hendersonville, NC.

Thank you, Gregory, we are so happy that you enjoyed your stay and have found your new 'home from home.'
Stay was nice. Building is old and is well taken care of. Not for everyone but decent. Staff is great and food was pretty good.

Thank you, John, we are happy that you enjoyed our great staff, old building and good food. As you say we are not for everyone, and we pride ourselves on our uniqueness in our 104-year-old building. It is definitely not a chain hotel with no personality. We hope to see you again in the future.
We had a very pleasant stay at The Henderson. Jeanne checked us in and she's very nice and welcoming. Room was small and the floor was very squeaky. The TV in the room is very small. Excellent breakfast and dinner at Harvey's. Overall, we would like to come back and perhaps try a different room.

Thank you Lucian, we are so happy that you enjoyed our food and hospitality. The Inn is 104 years old so there are creaking floors but we feel this adds to the charm. We hope to see you again soon in the mountains and maybe in one of our King Rooms.
Charming and very convenient to walking downtown. Great breakfast.

Enjoyed our stay - clean, great hosts, delicious food, friendly staff and relaxing. Historic Landmark building that has plenty of character, well taken care of, and perfectly located. We will be back.

Thank you for those kind words, we really appreciate the acknowledgment for the hard work that everyone puts in to this. We look forward to seeing you again.
First time in the area. I had heard this was the best place to stay in town and they were right!
Location: 1 block off the main street. Walking distance to everything and still quiet.
Innkeepers: very cool couple that own / run the place. Husband is the chef, wife runs the front desk and the bar. Makes a great cocktail.
Restaurant: awesome. Had a great dinner there. Very unique menu. Chef is British, cooked on cruise ships earlier and lots of local fresh ingredients. Breakfast the next morning was lovely.
Decor: traditional Carolina style yet edgy. Lobby is full of vintage mobster / movie posters and trinkets. You can tell the people behind this place are well traveled and cool.
Dont stay anywhere else in Hendersonville.

Thank you Tony for those wonderful words. We are so happy that you enjoyed your stay here at The Henderson and we look forward to having you stay with us again soon.
i expected the property due to it's age to be antique like but it bordered on tacky. We were asked not to run the electric floor heater at the same time as the hair dryer or we would blow a fuse. The toilet seat was loose and uncomfortable. The decorations were lacking in taste it was a hodge podge of thrown together pieces in the yard. The room advertised it had a TV and the definition of a TV was a monitor about the size of a computer monitor. We were there to celebrate our 44th wedding anniversary a weekend that we cannot get back. Downtown Hendersonville did not disappoint but we were forced to spend the evening in a sports bar rather than the room that we rented to watch our sports team play their championship game. Our plans were to watch in our room.

Hello Kimberly, I am sorry that we didn't meet your expectations on your recent visit. I do have to say that this is a disappointing review and came as quite a shock as you said that everything was wonderful, I wish that you would have told us about the loose toilet seat as we could have fixed that immediately. As you mentioned the Inn is old (102 years to be exact) this is why we mention the electric as the heaters do take quite a bit of power and we like to be transparent with our guests. The Christmas decorations have won the best decorated business in Henderson County and although not to everyone's taste the inflatable Santa and Grinch are primarily there for a venue for story telling for local disabled and disadvantaged kids who don't have a chance to get to other places. The look on their faces with hot coco and cookies is something that we look forward to every year, this may come across as tacky but we wouldn't have it any other way.As for the TV in the room, we don't focus on the size of the televisions as most people come to the mountains of Western North Carolina to enjoy the natural beauty of the area. The size of the TV and pictures of our holiday decorations are clearly shown on our website, we are an honest Mom and Pop business and not trying to be anything that we are not, we are not the Biltmore.Again, we are sorry that we didn't meet your expectations.
Perfect location, walk right to main st (1 block away) or the Tavern across the street. The Henderson is lovely, the hosts are great, and the food was outstanding. Highly recommended!

The hotel was in poor shape. It is an old historic hotel but it has not been matained at all. Toilet did not work. Had to unplug heater to use hair dryer.

We are sorry that we didn't meet your expectations this time, Robert. In a building over 100 years old sometimes things break. If you would have let us know we would have fixed it or moved you to another room.
We were looking for a place to stay in Hendersonville that wasn't A typical hotel and we found the perfect place. The owners were super cool! The staff was awesome! The Henderson has a lot of character, clean, comfortable and great drinks:) We will definitely stay there again.

We love the food, the ambiance and being in walking distance to Main Street. Probably best though is the feeling of friendship and family each time we return.

Disappointed
Advertised having restaurant and bar on site. Both were closed. No hot water in room. So, no shower was taken. Downstairs for breakfast the area was terribly cold. We will not return.

Our restaurant hours are clearly stated on our website, we do not open on a Sunday night. There is plenty of hot water if you use the correct faucet. The lobby is regulated at 72 degrees.
Very friendly innkeepers. The property has a lot of charm helped by the fact that it leans into its historical status. Very walkable to several restaurants in town and its a short drive from great hiking destinations.

Conveniently located an easy walk from downtown Hendersonville, The Henderson is a beautiful bed and breakfast that I cannot wait to visit again! We loved our stay at The Henderson. From the very beginning of my experience Jeanne was beyond helpful and welcoming. Breakfast was fantastic every morning and I really appreciated the honey from their own bee hives served with my tea.

The owners were super friendly and made you feel very welcomed. The location is excellent, right in downtown and the breakfast both days we stayed was amazing!! the only reason we didn't have dinner at the restaurant was because we wanted to walk around town more. Highly recommend this place.

Be sure to visit the 3rd floor.

Jeanine and Michael are great hosts. We were offered a different menu for breakfast every morning and everything we had was fantastic.
We also ate one night at their restaurant, Harvey's and it was one of the best meals we had in Hendersonville. We were seated outside on their wrap around porch. We had plenty of room between tables and all servers wore masks the entire time. We felt very safe and comfortable.
They offered recommendations on places to go, like Dupont and Pisgah for hikes.
The room was well decorated and clean.
We look forward to staying again.

We love the owners...the overall feel/charm of the building itself...the fact that our dog is treated as well as a human guest...the little coffee/tea stations on each floor...the bar...and the restaurant, "Harvey's" is fantastic.

Thank you for those kind words, we pride ourselves on being pet friendly and we are of course proud of our restaurant Harvey's.
We stayed over Thanksgiving and had an excellent dinner at Harveys, which is part of the B&B. The breakfasts were delicious and there were always two choices. There was also coffee available on all 3 floors. The hosts were welcoming and the location was a short walk to Main Street.
