There are no TVs or clocks in the room. It is a religious retreat center. Did not interfere with our stay.

Great hotel and property. We were a little surprised that there are no TV's in the rooms. Also the king mattress was very hard and uncomfortable for us. The setting is beautiful and the rooms are lovely.

Overall not a bad experience, however the WiFi doesn't work, or internet connection, therefor no communication to family still at home, bed was hard as a rock,no amenities like hair dryer,iron,etc...The normal stuff you have in hotels. The room was uncomfortable due to the fact that you could not control your room temperature ,thermostat was locked.

We are currently in the process of strengthening our WIFI signal as usage increases also many of the items you did not find in the room can be requested at the front desk. We will look into the thermostat too since all accommodations have open controls for guests comfort and bedding. This hotel offers so much! Breakfast was included in the price and they offered lunch and dinner at a fee as well. The things to do on site were in abundance- swimming, kayaking, canoeing, etc. Being as though we came in November, we couldn't experience any of that, so we will definitely be back to try those things. An all around peaceful hotel.

The only reason I have it 4/5 was because the beds were just horribly uncomfortable. Felt like sleeping on a stone slab. Also unless you were in the main lobby there was no WiFi. Otherwise very nice area, the food was nice, and the staff were great.

Unexpected Find!
We were lucky to find this Episcopal retreat and conference center for our short mountain vacation. Enjoyed the breakfast buffet every morning and it is located on a beautiful campus. Rooms were clean and updated. No TV, phones, or refrigerators in the room, but that was okay. There was a free laundry room down the hall from us, which came in very handy. We went home with all of our clothes clean!

Beautiful Setting
Checking in was slow with no one in line in front of me. We were traveling with pets and the room that I booked wasn’t a room for pets. The resort itself was beautiful. The room itself smelled and it wasn’t a clean smell. Dinner buffet had one main dish and salad for $25 each. Free breakfast was magnificent each morning!

Not enough parking spaces available for guests. A wedding was going on and when we returned to the hotel after going to dinner we could not find a place to park. Two rooms, one above us and one across the hall had barking dogs. They were quiet after about 11:00 though. Also, out air conditioning unit in the room made a loud buzzing Boyce all night.

This property is the most gorgeous getaway spot. It's meant for camping or big groups so don't go thinking it's the Ritz. There's amazing amenities and delicious complimentary breakfast.

Beautiful place overall and friendly staff, but as many have said already, there's work to be done here as far as the rooms in the Inn itself. The walls and doors are paper thin. We were on the first floor and could hear every single footstep above us in both the room directly above and the one before it, even though they weren't being loud. The lady next door to us was having a conversation on her phone in a normal voice, and it sounded pretty much like she was in the room with us. Late at night, people don't care about slamming doors, and you can hear doors slam on the complete opposite end of the floor you're on. If you're a light sleeper, or even a medium sleeper, you're gonna be woke up if you're there with night owls. The AC units are a whole other story. We had to switch rooms at 2am our final night because the AC started making loud noises. The room we were moved to was better, but the AC in there was also making strange and random noises... Just thankfully not as loud. Perhaps the cottages are better overall. We loved the location and about everything else. Breakfast was good, on par with most that I've seen and with plenty of room so you're not crowded.

Summer camp vibes in here!!! Great place with lots of activities. There are outdoor and indoor playgrounds, lots of board games to use, trails, boats, tennis court, beach, lake to swim or fish, library and gym. Yes there is no tv in a room- but we didn't need it. Breakfast is great. The only down side is thin walls. Other than that- beatiful place to stay

Stayed 2 weekend nights and overall it was a good experience. Pros: the surrounding area is beautiful with a lake, walking trails, etc. and a playground for the kids. The Inn is quiet, the room was clean and comfortable. Cons: Walls are very thin, could hear the guy next door snoring and I’m sure they heard us too. No TV, fridge, or microwave in the room which was fine to disconnect from technology for the weekend but a fridge at least would be nice. Overall a good place to stay for the price, I would stay again.

We booked a king suite with kitchen, but stayed in a double queen room without air conditioning in July. This was a very unpleasant camping experience! The floor was gritty, the broken air conditioner dripped and wheezed all night even though it was powered off. The tiled bathroom was crusty. The second night we had a better experience with a cleaner room and air conditioning. Be warned that the rooms have no coffee, tv, nor hair dryer. The other campers gave the impression that the grounds are by Episcopal legacy invitation only, so get ready to hear how many generations of their family have stayed at Kanuga.

Hidden Gem
Considering this was our first time, we were very impressed at how the camp is set up. This was an impromptu weekend get-away and i heard about it from a friend. We didn’t realize that this was like an ‘all-inclusive’ type of place. We stayed the weekend of june-July 4th. We certainly enjoyed the location ( 5 min downtown Hendersonville where varieties of eating place, shops, and not to mention, the weekend LIVE music bands performs), at Kanuga, we had lots fun with their planned activities, the Square dance was enjoyed by all, the use of the Pickle Ball court, hiking and the meals. They have the lake beach and canoe, beach bar. Kareoke night was not planned well (sound system), beach bar was rarely opened, and other activities does need more effort. The front desk reception certainly needs more guest relations training as they failed to mention any of these when we checked in. The staff Director and assistants did reached out to us and welcomed us during meals. IF it wasn’t for the very welcoming guests themselves, we would not have known this very sanctuary place. We love the concept and learned a lot more from the guests. It’s sort of a tight-knit families and friends gathering together and spending their week or reunion vacationing in generations. This is definitely something that our families love to do. We’re so glad to have discovered this place, we will be back.

This is an Episcopal Church property with a camp and Inn on the property. This isn't obvious in the Expedia listing. The beds are rock hard, and no refrigerator, microwave or TV. It is in a nice location if you're a nature lover.

Wonder getaway
We went for an anniversary weekend getaway and to also visit the Pretty Place. We disconnected because of no TV (which was great) & very little cell phone reception to be able to reconnect on our relationship. Thank you for providing an atmosphere for a wonderful weekend.
