"My second stay at The Glen, friendly staff/owners. Different room this time round but really spacious, clean and with all you would need for a break away. Breakfast is still really good with a wide selection and freshly cooked. Ideal hotel for my needs being situated close to family and excellent for days out within the Borders and close to Tweedbank for the train to Edinburgh with free parking. Would highly recommend and will definitely stay again."

"On entering the hotel you will be met by warm and inviting staff. off to the left of the reception is an insanely stocked whisky lounge but prices are on the steep side for you average dram. There is a 24 bar located en route to the rooms and an Aperol was £18!!! scandalous. Charlies is the main restaurant and breakfast area. breakfast was good but the plates were weirdly small, slightly bigger than a side plate. the smell of the “Smokies” reeked out the lobby at the lifts and filled the corridor towards the spa. The spa was nice, 4hrs consecutively is the max for hotel guests per day. pools, ans hot tub were nice. one sauna out of action with a smashed glass panel. one foot spa missing a plug so no couples chill out there. Room was nice, but the air con was loud even when we had it switched off and door open. Clean and well presented, good amenities and the wife said the hair dryer was not too shabby."

"The staff seemed to lack training and expertise in each area including in the bar and at the reception. We were placed in a room that was clearly used as an example for showing it to potential wedding bookings. A loud wedding sales person showed a number of potential clients around throughout our stay. On two occasions he would stand outside the door with the clients discussing the room and even attempting to open the door when we were inside. This showed poor communication between staff and departments. There was lipstick on a glass given to us at the bar. Reception staff did not know how to check us out and were very loud and unprofessional during the day. The room was cosy. Nice shower and large bathroom. Tv had many channels. No shampoo despite the guest book saying that normally they have them for guests. Hairs in toilet and on walls on arrival. Good value for money. Nice walks around the gardens."

"Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean and very quiet room. Very comfortable bed. Great breakfast provided at the adjacent service station. The adjacent service station also had plenty of shops to top up supplies for our journey onwards. For an overnight stop on a long road trip this was perfect."

"Having parking was a huge benefit, the high street does get busy so knowing it wasn't going to be an issue is great. The breakfast was lovely, nice amount of choice and the full cooked breakfast was huge! We didn't get a chance to have a coffee in the cafe but the homemade cakes and biscuits looked delicious. Check in and check out was smooth and quick. We were in room 86 and the windowsill needs a bit of maintenance and the room could do with a freshen up but the room was clean and the bed was comfy. The locationis very handy for a stroll down the high street. Can't fault anything and would definitely stay here again."
