"Very Small rooms. Difficult furnishings.
First and foremost - the rooms are VERY small. Yes, big enough for a king bed, but:
- No work desk. Instead there is a small round high table with 2 stools. Very difficult to do any work here.
- Small closet cabinet takes space from the room. No luggage stand.
- Shower cabinet is so small that I had to open the door to pick up my soap (not enough room to bend over!)
- Amenities (coffee, tissues, toilet paper, soap, etc.) were all bargain-basement quality.
Other issues:
- The parking lot is not paved. While this may not be an issue in mid-winter, it definitely is in muddy April.
- All the rooms are on the 2nd floor, and there is no elevator. A real problem if you have heavy luggage (or a bad back).
- The hotel is very close to an active train track, near a level crossing. Woken up twice overnight by the VERY loud train horns.
HOWEVER, the restaurant is excellent."
"Très bel hôtel, très bien propre très bon service.
Ma grande déception la nourriture tres ordinaire et par le fait même très chère. Pas a la hauteur de sa réputation. "
"Way too expensive for what was on offer at the hotel.
Hotel was clean, staff were nice, location is pretty good but the hotel has basically zero services.
The bar is run by the same person who handles the front desk! Conclude what you want from that statement.
You have to pay 12$ for parking! This is not Montreal or Toronto. They have a huge parking lot so obviously they're not charging because there's a shortage.
The "queen" size bed is definitely not queen, it's a double or a weird size slightly larger than a double. My own bed at home is a queen and it's much bigger.
They don't even offer a bottle of water. There's a bottle in the room but it'll cost you $4 if you open it.
The coffee service in the room is kinda pathetic and there's no tea. You have to go to the front desk to get tea bags!
The TV is not a smart TV!
All this sounds like nit picking but if you're spending over $300 a night in low season you expect more. "
"Great staff and wonderful views. While some of the rooms have been updated, others would need to be. Children allowed in the spa/hottub and pool only after 6:30 PM is a bit restrictive. I believe 5:30 PM would be more reasonable, allowing for both adults and children to benefit from the amenities. "
"I don’t think we will be staying here again.
PROS
The staff is ok and the restaurant convenience for breakfast is fantastic. The bed is super comfortable. The location was great for us.
CONS
We stayed on the bottom floor where there is a driveway for a private residence out our window. We could either close the blackout curtains or have them wide open where they could see inside our room. Some sort of sheer curtain would have been nice to let light in. The lights are dim so it was very dark in our room. The shower head was a bit loose and half the jets were clogged. The fridge froze our food. The worst thing is we discovered that the outside door in the back wasn’t locked. Anyone could get in. "
