Front Entrance of Halton House (2). This photo shows the House which was built by Alfred de Rothschild of the famous banking family in the early 1880s, principally to entertain Victorian high society in the most lavish style imaginable. It was part of the Halton Estate which in 1919 became Royal Air Force Halton and this Mansion became the Officers' Mess, known since as Halton House. On the left of the photo can be seen the West Wing which replaced the derelict Winter Garden. This Wing is now used as accommodation for living-in officers.

Front Entrance of Halton House (1). Situated off Upper Icknield Way, this House dates from the early 1880s and since 1919 has been a Royal Air Force Officers' Mess. To the left of the photo can be seen the West Wing (rooms and suites for living-in officers).

Location great. Staff were friendly. Room very tired and in need of upgrade. I found a tablet/medication on the floor which wasn’t great if a child had found it, so didn’t feel really clean.
