there was a strong smell of Marijuana in the lobby. The clerk was very pleasant and she was making jokes with us. The room was clean and decent. The breakfast is very basic and was good enough for us. There was a pretty strong cigarette and Marijuana smell in the common areas of the hotel that was irritating but other than that, was a decent stay very nice people.

Don't know why you would need to stay in Hallock, but if you do, I recommend you stay at the Budget Host Caribou Inn. Nice room, clean, quiet with nice staff!

Great up north hotel

Perfect hotel for what we needed it for- 1 night. Was clean- nothing fancy- but was totally great for our purpose. This hotel is pretty far up north- not much up there. We were just happy to find a hotel near Lancaster. Would totally stay again if we were in the area. Guy who checked me in was also friendly and had no isse with us checking in at like 9pm

Nice small town stay

Hotel was very clean and everyone was friendly. Only negative was the stone-hard mattress. My son is 6’3” / 250lbs and it didn’t budge when he laid down.

Very simple hotel. Bed was comfortable. For a one night stay to just sleep it was good. Not much for a free breakfast though. No coffee - they only have a kurig. No coffee in the rooms either. Not really anything to be honest. But if you just need a quick bagel, or cold cereal you’d be good.

There was no host to greet us, just two keys on the counter with our names. The walls and floors were thin and the other guests loud for quite a while into the night. In the morning the “breakfast” was two pieces of bread and some dry cereal choices with no milk to be found, and again no motel staff. We found nothing to eat in the area for dinner on Sunday night either, but that wasn’t the motel’s fault. It’s just remote. Also saw no elk, which is why we were there:(

Oh well…

The staff was tremendous, but the hotel is far less than subpar. It is what it is though, as there are not much for hotel options up this way. Plan accordingly.

Adequate given the lack of alternatives

There aren’t many choices for places to stay up here, so I was willing to let my expectations be lowered a bit. The building is showing its age a little bit with cracks and patch jobs showing. The beds were reasonably comfortable and the room was clean. The check in process was easy and friendly. Breakfast was substandard and is not managed well. It was pretty basic and If they run out of something it wasn’t replenished. We knew that going in and didn’t count on much. I’m happy to see soap dispensers which are much more environmentally friendly.

Convenient rooms with all the amenities, although the carpet in the room could use a lot more vacuum and there was quite a bit of hair in the bathroom. Couple snack options for breakfast, which is quite ok if you’re on the run.

We arrived after 8 p.m. The clerk came to check is in, greeted us, gave us a run down on the amenities and directed us to our room. The room was clean. The shower was clean. We slept well. We left in the morning. We received everything we paid for. I would certainly stay there again.
