"Beautiful hotel and rooms located is a beautiful area. Many other dining options available in the neighboring hotels, but the hotel restaurant itself is very good. The staff were courteous and efficient."
"Very clean hotel. The building almost feels more like a small university dorm than a traditional business hotel. The staff doesn't speak much English, so make sure you have at least a rudimentary level of Japanese or a translation device if you're staying here, but they are very helpful and friendly.
Of note, there are no elevators or escalators in this hotel, so you need to carry your luggage up the stairs if you're staying on the second floor. If you have mobility issues, I would recommend...
"The hotel building looked in an old days style, but their service was very customer friendly.
The front desk reps were very welcoming and kind.
The morning buffet was lovely with the local dishes."
"Ver few staff to help you. The quality of meals was the worst I had in decades of staying in Japan.. They charge you like a hot spring hotel but the service and both meals are way off..and it is not a hot spring hotel. Not recommendabl!"
"Super cute little hostel, though I’m sure it’d be way better in the summertime! We came in what was off-season (early April), so we basically had the place to ourselves. It was quiet, and very cold, and a lot of the businesses in the area weren’t quite open at regular hours yet, but we still enjoyed our time!
It is a little far from any cities, so accessibility is slightly difficult without a car (there is one or two buses a day? or every other day I believe?), but we managed to rent a car and...

"This is an amazing peaceful place. Just perfect for calming minds and taking care of your body in local thermal water.
Interior in this hotel is so charming and very traditional. Everybody from the stuff is also really cute and polite.
I think if we return here next time in the summer it will be even more interesting with more available facilities of this area. But even now, in middle of April it’s so good and nice. "
"Super amazing hotel. Slightly dated but very clean and family friendly. Important thing is a ski in ski out with great buffet dinner for food. We had snow crab legs free flow!!! "
"Sato san and Nora san were the perfect hosts for our 4-night stay. Food was very good and the pension was warm and cozy. Our room was spacious enough and had a wonderful view of sunrise and even part of Mt Iwaki. Our room package came with daily breakfast and dinner.
We felt we were staying with good friends and every dinner was pleasantly spent with Sato san, Nora san and fellow guests. Bon-chan was a delightful addition to the experience too. Sato san and Kazu san took turns to send or pick us to and from the APPI Plaza, which was only about 3 minutes' drive away.
Sato san has a cool style, and is a creative person who cooks very well too. His pension has touches of his art and his philosophy of life is beautful. I highly recommend this pension to anyone who wants to ski at APPI Kogen. We rented his ski gear which were of good quality but at a fraction of the price at the APPI Plaza rental place. "
