we did late-check-in. but the way that pass the key was really irresponsible and NOT safe, I think. I didnt realize her contact & 24hour contact didn't work, so we took long time to check-in (Guimaraes might be a safe place, but...😥😫) Also "the reception opens at 10am" is too late. the price is really reasonable if guests don't do late-check-in.

Very comfortable bed & spacious room! The receptionist was very nice & very helpful!! Would definitely recommend this place. The only thing I would recommend is for the property to fix their amenities. Parking is not included and we had to pay for street parking.

Great guest house! The facilities are very new and super clean. The location is very convenient as it is right in the center, but on a quiet cosy little square, so you don't hear any noise. Easy to reach from the train station too. The staff is awesome and very helpful.

Location is very convenient (near downtown). To our surprise, Expedia.com didn't (or doesn't at all) inform the owner that we booked a unit with kitchen. Fortunately, we were given a choice of the room and chose one in the attic, spacious, with kitchen and with a view above the roof. Note: this room is only suitable for fit people as the staircase is very steep. Also be aware of low ceiling. In the hall and in the room there are volumes of nicely illustrated history of Portugal pertaining to different periods. Even those not fluent in Portugese as ourselves can take advantage of the pictures. Overall we enjoyed the stay.

This was in the heart of the town and a central location for the bus station or train station so ideal for exploring. Breakfast was ample continental and rooms were clean. The only thing i missed was not having a kettle for making our own tea and coffee, which i have always had provided in previous holiday accommodation, so surprised when ther was none here,especially when you get in from your day or evening out, you dont want to go into town again just for a cup of tea! It was good to have a balcony, but there was no view. Maybe a mural or similar on the blank wall opposite could be considered by the owner. otherwise all good.

The personal of Trovador City Guest House had an excellent attention, the room was large, clean and really nice. The Trovador hotel is very near to the principal attractions. It´s a really good option to visit Guimaraes.

Great Value and Super Convenient
This is a great value for price find! The property is located close by the main square but in a cul de sac, so there isn't any noise. The rooms are new, clean, spacious and we even had a great balcony! There is no wifi in the rooms though and the shower wasn't really well designed because the water would flood out of it and could even reach the room. The service was Ok. The lady let us check in very late in the day (2am) which was great but wasn't the nicest person around. Still, it wasn't bad. Overall, I would come back.

Fantastic guesthouse near the historic sights!
We stayed a week here and loved it. The beds were comfy, the room clean and quiet, and the wifi speedy. During our stay in July the temperature reached 104 Fahrenheit outside but the air-conditioning worked great! The staff was very attentive and professional and checked to be sure we had everything we needed. We would definitely stay here again!

good mix old-new
modest accomodation in a old building in harmony with the street environment. Near the historical city centre, 5 min walking, very close to main roads (bus, taxi). In the inside there no much space, but the materials are recent and of good taste.

Lovely guest house in Guimarães
It was an amazing guest house. Lovely big room with loads of space. Could had breakfast in the room with no extra costs. Staff was very friendly and make us felt at home.

Nice hotel, great location, noisy on weekend
The rooms are nice and the location is perfect - walking distance to everything. The problem is that there is a small bar/kebab restaurant below the hotel on the back street. We were given a back room on Friday night and were kept up most of the night by people talking in the bar and street outside. We complained the next morning and the owner was very nice and moved us to a front room for Saturday night. It was much better though my wife was still woken up a few times. We were there on a weekend so its probably quieter during the week.

Quaint but not too easy attic room
Service of Isabel, the owner, was excellent, including having to bring breakfast to the room at a time you prefer. However because we were at the attic, the climb to the room without a lift was difficult - with 3 suitcases on a very narrow stairway. Amenities were basic and adequate - but the shower tiles overflowed with water when you showered and the bathroom was not too private. Wi-fi was erratic at the top floor.

Quaint and authentic Portuguese apartelle
Great location but on a cobbled stone square. Room was pleasant but there is no lift. I was on the top floor so it was difficult to reach on the narrow stairways with a heavy suitcase. The balcony was an added benefit, but there are no other amenities except for bath soap (though the shower was great!). No wi-fi on the top floor - only on the lobby - but I was able to connect to the Guimaraes free wi-fi though only for two hours. Adequate for a holiday stay perhaps, but not so much for a business stay.

Super spacious room
Really nice, spacious room just off the center of town. Accommodating staff. Only suggestion is put another chair in the room so that two can sit and have in-room breakfast. No issues. Had a nice stay.

A estadia correu bem, sem sobressaltos, dentro do esperado. O inconveniente que ocorreu gerou-se a partir do exterior. O barulho do cortejo das festas Gualterianas (aqueles tambores...) não deixava ninguém dormir enquanto durou, mas foi igualmente uma agradável surpresa ter uma noção da natureza destas festas. Nada mais a assinalar.

Charmerende lille guesthouse med perfekt beliggenhed ifh til byens fantastisk hjerte. Meget hjælpsomme og smilende personale. Lækker klassisk morgenkomplet serveret på samme charmerende måde som resten af husets koncept. Vi parkerede i parkeringshus, 2 min. derfra til 5 euro for 2 dage. Vi kan anbefale at spise lokalt på nabo restauranten “Taberna Trovador” hvis man vil spise autentisk portugisisk veltillavet mad.
