Words can’t describe the feeling. We were there for one night and did regret not having planned for a longer stay. We will surely come back. All staff were professional and beyond courteous.

It is a small, cozy, charmy hotel with a Michelin's list resturant. Guimaraes is a pretty town near Douro River.

We happened to stumble upon this gem while traveling from Porto to Galicia Spain and enjoyed our stay very much. The staff was helpful and friendly. Perfect area for walking around and parking close by, maybe a couple of blocks away. Don’t leave without having a wonderful meal at the hotel restaurant and sit outside if possible. We are excited to come back! Thank you for your hospitality!

The hotel is right in the middle of the historic district, easy to move around on foot. Big problem is getting to the hotel with your luggage. Don't take too many bags

Highly recommend
Wonderful hotel and town. We had the best meal we’ve eaten in 2 weeks at one of the cafes in the court yard. Black pasta with huge shrimp. The hotel is a gem. We had a lovely one night stay which was perfect for this wonderful town. Our room was amazing.

Our stay at Hotel Oliveira was so wonderful, I didn't want to leave. The staff was so accommodating, assisting us with all our questions and needs. The reading room was my favorite place after a long day of touring. We loved being able to help ourselves to tea or espresso in that special place. The breakfast was absolutely perfect and the room was very comfortable. I was concerned about not having a room overlooking the square, but in the end I was happier since the square fills with people late into the night and we didn't hear any of it!

An excellent choice when staying in Guimaraes, Portugal. Located right in the heart of the historic city center, easy walking distances to essentially all historic sites in the city, as well as to many restaurants and small shops in the city center. Michelin star HOOL restraint on site. Two potential drawbacks: (1) hotel is not accessible by car. You must park about 300-500 ft away and drag your luggage to the hotel; and (2) there is no swimming pool. Otherwise, an excellent 4-star hotel right in the centre of Guimaraes. Will stay here again should my travels bring me back to Guimaraes sometime in the future.

Amazing hotel in historic district!
Hotel location was at center of historic district, room was a junior suite even that was amazing! Everything was perfect! I only wish we could get the car closer to unload the luggage, but that's the price you pay for being at such a central location in Guimarães!

I love everything about this hotel. My room was very clean with lot of space. The breakfast was simply amazing! with many different options (bread, hams, yogurts, fruit, tec.) and of very high quality. The location was excellent, just in the middle of the historic downtown, close to everything. The perfect cost/benefit ratio! I don't know when I will be back again in Guimaraes, but whenever i come back I'll be staying at this incredible hotel.

Great location. Room was comfortable, but for the price, not worth it. Wifi kicked us off frequently, heat could not be turned down, took a long time for hot water when taking a shower, shower pan was tilted slightly away from drain and would leak onto floor if you didn't 'kick it' back towards drain with foot. Front door always locked; you need to be buzzed in by front desk. Unfortunately, they aren't always there, or you have to wait. Very poor system.
